I guess I don't want to know... I kind of dislike after having seen how he dumps drivers with a contract...

Anyway, how to get the money... well one very popular trick these days is to get backed by a big engine manufacturer, that maybe want to play a serious role in your team. Some manufacturers just start a team on their own (Toyota) so they get the money from selling cars.
Others.. Williams and McLaren were non-dependent teams (and so is still williams more or less, but BMW doesn't like that :D ) but they found a manufacturer that was willing to invest, and to get the team associated with that manufacturer... can you now imagine that McLaren announces to drive Honda power next year... I didn't think so  (would be good for BAR then if they would get Mercedes engines :P )
And then there are people like Stoddart, Jordan and Sauber, who completely rely on their sponsors.
If you ever want to start an F1 team, feel free to contact me to work for you then, but I'd suggest you start working hard and begin making lots of money, then find a sponsor that is impressed by what you have achieved, and then start working even harder....

Just starting with tons of bucks can be seen in examples of Toyoda. This is pretty much the limitations for new teams to be introduced in F1 nowadays. You need tons and tons of money.

Another method is buying existing teams seen in examples such as Alain Prost who bought Ligier, and the Ford Motor Company buying Stewart and re-badging it as Jaguar. Paul Stoddart was an airline owner before he bought Minardi, as with Ron Dennis who bought Mclaren after a career as a mechanic. My guess is that a similar example will be seen after the auctions of the properties of Arrows.

The third method is moving in from other racing series like F3 or Lemans. Jordan, Sauber, Williams and i think Minardi(not quite sure on this one) moved in from other series.

Otherwise, just start from the beginning! The only remaining example are unfortunately only Ferrari and Mercedes Benz(engines only though).

IMO, the only way to see new entrants like in the old days are only possible when costs involved in F1 are reduced. It's incredibly hard to accept that F1 became a billion dollar industry. It's no longer possible to just buy chassis and engines bolted on and race. Purchasing motorhomes would outweigh these costs. No wonder F1's in pressure.

Are you sure Williams moved from another series?...Williams is the third team that Frank brought into F1.....the other 2.....just didn't work out! :P lolol

hmm one more remark... didn't Ron Dennis start McLaren as a Formula2 team? I thought he converted a formula2 project into formula One, which was then named the first MP4. The very first F1 car made of carbonfibre too

He runs an Aussie V8 Team, I'm sure you can guess the name :D
Walkinshaw Racing (imaginative) runs Bundeburg Red Racing and Team Autobarn
