At this point a serious conversation needs to be had about replacing Lewis with Ollie sooner rather than later. Lewis week after week is looking more dejected and is consistently off the pace or making dumb errors that end his race. People say he is getting closer, I say it was that Charles didn't find the right setup with the new suspension, now he has and he is back to being much quicker again. Just frustrated after this race but Hamilton ending it on his own accord with a poor start and a terrible piece of driving is ridiculous.

While Hamilton made a mistake today, his previous few weekends have all been good, the bad result in Austin was no fault of his own. This was his first bad weekend since the summer, it's not like he's been off the pace this entire time.

Before jumping to conclusions let's at least finish the season.

He had a bad weekend in Mexico, the race before. Austin he was slow (both Ferrari drivers have excessive LICO this year I don't really think that is a fair reason to say he didn't do well), Singapore he decided to not give a crap about saving his brakes and they blew up, Zandvoort he crashed out on his own.

There are no real excuses when you see what Leclerc does in the other car. If he is making the money of a 7 time WDC winner, he needs to perform like one, and he has come nowhere to that standard, no matter how hard people defend him.

If the car is like this, next season. I agree.

How can you say that when since the summer break, he and Ollie have the same number of points excluding sprints? Is the Haas a better car than the Ferrari? At some point, this is less of a car issue and more of a driver issue. For comparison, Leclerc has scored 63 points in that time frame, meanwhile Ollie has 32 and Lewis has 39, 7 of those coming from the sprints in Austin and here in Brazil.

Tbf to Lewis he would have had quite a bit more points if his brakes didnt explode in singapore and i have my reservations on how mexico was handled

It's a horrible racing car but it does have some performance in there which is just really difficult to extract, and that particular aspect is up to the driver to mange.

Leclerc has been dealing with such cars for years now, so he is obviously doing a much better job at extracting whatever performance the car has, this is sort of normal working conditions for Leclerc but absolutely abnormal ones for Hamilton.

Can't wait to see what Leclerc can do in a proper race car...

I think Piastri was a bit too optimistic. But at the same time, I think Kimi could have avoided him. There's nothing I could do about it, it's really frustrating. In the end, I don't blame either Oscar or Kimi; these things happen, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's all Oscar's fault.

The stewards always try to do their best, but in this situation, Kimi knew very well that Oscar was on the inside. You can't take the corner as if there's no one on the inside. I'm not angry at either of them, but it's certainly not just Oscar's fault. I'd say it's more 50/50.

I know I didn't do anything wrong. There was nothing risky in my move, and I absolutely learned nothing from this race. In these situations, you have to try to forget as quickly as possible and move on, but it's not easy. We're fighting for second place in the constructors' championship, and it'll be extremely tough to get it.

Charles has indeed gotten really good at driving by the seat of his pants, but it's really hard to win a championship that's way unless your car is head and shoulders above the competition, and the same for you with your teammate.

Honestly, I feel like giving LeClerc a hug. How long will bad luck keep chasing him ? Yes he makes mistakes at times, but he has had more DNFs from no fault of his own than those from his own mistakes. Could have been on the podium today.

Max was destroyed by Kimi as well in Austria, it happens.
Last year Charles didn't have a lot of bad luck for once. Only one contact, Austria turn 1 with Piastri and Perez i think.
This year has been a bit worse with this race and Zandvoort.
He was lucky in Mexico with the VSC.

I don’t think that’s what he said at all. He said it was a racing incident which, as much as it messed up our race, tbh I agree with. Three cars going into the same corner, all of whom had a right to go for it, is just likely to end up in some kind of collision and not all collisions have to result in someone being at fault - it’s racing, it happens.

No, Oscar is barely alongside the rear wheel of Antonelli into the braking zone and has 0 rights to the corner. Completely moronic judgement from Oscar who is driving desperately to save his fading WDC hopes. Yes. Even Charles said the blame was 50/50 Oscar and Kimi and that Oscar couldn’t exactly disappear. Oscar is much further forward than the rear wheel. It’s a racing incident if ever I saw one and silly to give penalties for every single incident. Charles is the one who is hard done by, for sure, but ultimately you always take a risk that this can happen if you’re on the outside and that’s racing.

Guys, read up on the new guidelines please - 'ahead of the rear wheels' doesn't apply like it used to in older times...
According to latest guidelines (which the drivers themselves have a say in the formation of) , the front axle of the inside aggressor has to be ahead of the mirrors of the defender, 'upto and at the apex of' the corner AND be in control of the car (ie no lockup or spin) ; inorder to claim rights to the corner.

Now, we may disagree with the spirit/morality/philosophy of the framing of it, but that IS the rule/guideline ; and the stewards have to follow it. The reason Verstappen didn't get a penalty for wheel banging Hamilton in Mexico was applying the same rule, his front axle was ahead of the Ferrari mirrors ahead of & at the apex of, T1. So he deserved to 'not give room' at the exit of the corner, which in turn allowed him to drift wide to the outside of the exit of the corner.

Forgive my language but we have a --- car a real garbage. When you have a car which is so inconsistent and so slow then its not possible to do much. I hope ferrari do something in engineering division because current set of engineers/technical dept. are surely not good enough and this issue need to be taken seriously. From tears its the same story, after 2008 never fir once we came with the best car of grid and this is worrying , with such budget still such crap of a car.
