My only crime was commenting before this document was released.

However, what if they checked verstappens and Leclerc’s car randomly and saw no excessive plank wear- then the FIA potentially don’t check McLaren skid blocks so the result stands
"McLaren have clearly been targeted here". How would you know before seeing the document? You didn't know which cars had been checked. Your "crime" is stoking silly conspiracy theories instead of waiting for the facts to come out. Don't pretend.
I did read other race scrutineering reports from this season before I posted and as I’ve just previously said they don’t always mention checking the skid wear.

The top 10 were only checked this race because Mclaren was randomly checked and were found to have massively f*cked up.
Did they check the rest of the top 10 when both Ferrari’s got DSQ at CoTA last year?

Ruh roh. How long has this been going on for. Reminiscent of Ferrari in 2022 after the infamous TD 39.

You understand that plank wear can be "anticipated" right? Looking at sparks, looking at oscillation metrics. The FIA are not just fumbling in the dark when they choose to check a car. It's the same reason why Norris was told to massively slow down at the end, because McLaren was suspecting the same thing because they have access to the same data streams. There's no "targeting", it's just plain clever enforcement of rules using technology and good old eye-sight. McLaren have no one but themselves to blame.

Here's the doc from Brazil
The skid wear was checked on car numbers 81, 04, 01, 63, 12, 10 and 27.
As it turns out, when no one in the top 5 breaks the rules, no controversies.

I’m sure I’ve read that they’ll can be smelt when the cars are parked up too.

It was 2023 with Ham and Lec. I don't recall if they went all the way down the top 10, but they definitely checked the top 5 cars, I do recall that. They can see the accusations of "targeting" coming from a mile away so they get out ahead of it.

Ok. I’m not as knowledgeable about it as I thought.
I have nothing left to say in now what is a pro-Verstappen forum. I hope he wins the title for you, I feel you guys will take it harder than me and I’ll be fairly disappointed if a McLaren driver doesn’t win it but you aren’t used to not winning.
Just a fan's point of view

Interesting given the rumours of heating metals around skid blocks up after Brazil.

Speculation hat on: Maybe the metal cooled down, lost its rate of thermal expansion and made more of a gap to where it’s measured from?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Having 0,2mm too much plank wear isn't going to be the "key" to your car's performance. McLaren is plain rapid regardless, this was a blunder on the set-up.

Scarbs speculates McLaren might have had a good idea there was an issue with temp sensors in the blocks

What even is this discussion? They didn’t comply with the rules and were disqualified. It’s completely normal - no "targeting", no "but others". The mistake/misjudgement is solely on McLaren’s side.
It's obvious top cars will be checked more often.

"How long has this been going on for." :D sure, tin foil hats are striking immediately. That's to be expected.
