Left front was dying in the final sector, they were trying to manage tires throughout qualy, final lap was the best compromise. If Max had enough for sector 3 might have been close to pushing Lando to P3 but this was better than I was expecting, MERC seemed to have similar tire troubles like RBR.
I don't think so. McLaren just seems faster than anyone else in S3, by 1,5 - 2 tenths. The wing they run seems more efficient for that sector.euv2 wrote: β29 Nov 2025, 21:15Left front was dying in the final sector, they were trying to manage tires throughout qualy, final lap was the best compromise. The softs are different every week so unless you are saying the C3 tyre has been bad for RB all year then I have no idea what you're talking about. To me this result seems normal, the McLaren is the better car and this track really suits them.Vettel165 wrote: β29 Nov 2025, 21:21Softs are just very bad on this red bull, the car is starting to slide in the corners. Mclaren is much better on the soft tyres, less deg. Like I said Red Bull had this problem for the entire year, the mediums and hards just work better. In the last races we had a better race pace car then qualy. I am happy with P3, right behind Lando. It was the maximum today.
Yeah, MCL running slightly higher DF, Max was slightly closer in sprint qualy yesterday 0.12 vs 0.17s today. I was going off by Max's comments to GP citing the same.Badger wrote: β29 Nov 2025, 21:18I don't think so. McLaren just seems faster than anyone else in S3, by 1,5 - 2 tenths. S3 isn't about high downforce, it's about efficient downforce. McLaren has less drag with the wing closed than RB, but they have just as much if not more downforce. RB lacks efficiency and dare I say a bit of grunt.euv2 wrote: β29 Nov 2025, 21:29Yeah, MCL running slightly higher DF, Max was slightly closer in sprint qualy yesterday 0.12 vs 0.17s today. Think Red bull got a bit out developed on rear wings. Most top teams brough spoon shaped RWs and for this DF range they seem to do better but Red bull stayed with the old design.Badger wrote: β29 Nov 2025, 21:32S3 isn't about high downforce, it's about efficient downforce. Red Bull these regulations have been looking like a fool whenever it has come to wings.euv2 wrote: β29 Nov 2025, 21:46Think Red bull got a bit out developed on rear wings. Most top teams brough spoon shaped RWs and for this DF range they seem to do better but Red bull stayed with the old design.
Initially Red bull were the best, they had the highest efficiency and biggest DRS gain but most teams started copying their design and the gap became nonexistent. Only at the end of 24 season did MCL and FER experiment with the new spoon designs, and they seemed to have worked well for med and med-high configs.f1isgood wrote: β29 Nov 2025, 21:51Red Bull these regulations have been looking like a fool whenever it has come to wings.
