Lambiase really needs to start taking some heat for his routinely snarky comments about other drivers.

Stick to your own driver and keep your opinions to yourself. You're a race engineer, not a fan. Maybe Max needs to be wound up to perform well, but they were 2 laps from the end and he was well out in front.

The entire culture of that team has ended up with another Merc driver getting abused. That's at least 3 Merc drivers in the last 4 years.

Zac Browns comment about Hulkenberg in Austin was also bad, but I haven’t seen so much comments about him like we see now towards GP.
To be clear, GP’s comment was not good, but he apologised as soon as he saw what happened.

F1 director shouldn't have broadcast that message from GP to Verstappen. That is just fueling the fire. I know they want controversy but it's not the way to go about it.

I can see that Red Bull had to issue an apology. Good from them, good from Mekies. I don't think Horner would have apologized.

To which end, the highlighted bit above ... aren't you falling into the same trap of irresponsibility ? He doesn't currently have anything to do with F1, made no comment or contribution, but you feel comfortable to proffer that view.

I'm quite happy to represent myself that way. I stand by what I said. Horner is major part of the reason why Red Bull has such a culture.

Mekies seems to be working toward changing it.

Funny thing of course is that Russel said that the day before he tried to give Lando a tow during qualy to win the world championship, during a heated debate in front of the cameras. So it is not completely out of the blue that Merc. could be trying to help Lando. That said, it was an obvious mistake by Kimi and he should not receive threats. But Max has had them, Lewis had them, Latifi, Masi. Just idiot people online who do that.

Question is, does Max winning or losing this season make him more likely to remain at Red Bull, thus securing both Merc drivers their seats post 2026?

Max said it himself if Redbull aren't competitive, he'll straight up leave the sport. Antonelli may come into his own before Max ever decides to, so the Mercedes boys will be good for the long term future.

I didn't think that at all, I watched Lando sit behind Antonelli for 8 or so laps before he finally got by, I complained in the Mclaren thread that Norris was never going to make 3rd with his struggles behind Kimi. I didn't need to see the incident to know Kimi didn't let him pass given that he'd held him up considerably. Without the mistake, he had a good chance of keeping fourth.

And I don't think for a second that GP thought that Kimi let him by either.

Of course F1technical fictions work 3 ways.

Namely....

1. Any unwarranted and reprehensible Red Bull accusations are up for debate, including those that lead to death threats.

2. Reprehensible Red Bull accusations that lead to pushback, is excused in a false equivalence fashion.

Immediately after, Sky said "Antonelli gifting an opportunity there for Lando Norris". Why are folks not keeping the same energy for SkyF1?

Earlier in the race, Antonelli moved to the left of the circuit before Oscar Piastri overtook him.




It's why Marko referred to two separate incidents where one could conceivably think Antonelli waived him through. Mercedes is not above suspicion. . I find RBR's takes on what was broadcasted to be reasonable suspicions. If Mercedes want to help Mclaren, that's their right, there's nothing against it. It turns RB was wrong but they aren't responsible for the actions of nuts on the internet anymore than Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton would be responsible for Latifi and Michael Masi's death threats.
