I want Alonso on the podium tomorrow with Leclerc in P2 and Max in P1. My biggest dream, it would be my favourite moment in F1 history, been watching it since 2000...
Highly unlikely. For that to happen, the McLarens would need to have a brain fart and take each other out (or Russel to take both of them out). Too much dreaming... :D
Indeed.

Max can try to slow Norris down but he also needs to keep himself in front of Piastri. Oscar can take P2 through merit (Lando on the dirty side of the grid, after all) or, if Max tries the stack up, as Norris I would consider letting Oscar take P2 so he can attack with complete abandon. Max and Oscar battling for the win with nothing to lose, what do you think is the most likely outcome???

I’d rather cruise away to the win, it’s not like Mclaren are incapable of making a mistake on their own.

Max needs to stir the pot as hardcas he can and he will. Let there be chaos!

I'm just a bit disappointed that Piastri could not defeat Norris 1 more time.
In that case Norris would be leading by 2 points ahead Piastri, while Max trailing further 3 points behind.
All of them would be 1 race win away from winning, it would be a proper shootout winner takes it all with completely different dynamics.

There would be no strategies and calculations as everybody just would be needed to go for the win.

Brazil engine.

I think max will manage the pace somewhat to preserve his tires and go long. In his first stint, setting up lecler and Russel for an undercut on Norris. Norris then has to either pit behind yuki or get undercut. He might even jo-jo the pace giving russel and leclerc soe opportunity to cool the tires and charge the batteries.

Yes, I wish this was indeed the case. It would have simplified this final race, and it would be have been decided based on 'pure speed'. At present, there are just too many 'what if' scenarios to consider, that I think the best strategy for the teams would be to wait until end of lap1, and then plan it on-the-fly (and perhaps change it in lap8-9, looking at the state of the tyres/race-pace).

I didnt sleep well last night. Whatever the outcome hope this race is soon over, we will know in 4 hours. But cant stand this pressure. 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2021 were too much for me. Either way as a passioned fan I will be in tears today, it doesnt matter if it goes wrong or right for me...

I totally get this, this is why I prefer if the WDC is decided before the last race (either way). On the last race the pressure is just too big that a random event will be the deciding factor.

This year is a bit different though as I let the WDC go months ago so in my mind this was already decided many races ago. With this mindset today I'll only feel positive or neutral outcome, so I don't have that stressed feeling. I guess Max is in the same vibe (or at least this is what he is projecting).

Aye, watching qualy yesterday was incredibly tense

Today’s race will be the same. However, this good for F1. I notice people talking about the sport again, people who don’t normally take an interest.
