You really have to look at the short video released to understand the car. The static picture released do not do it justice
The side pods are amazing. The undercut is massive and the way the top is so thin and tappers right in at the back is unreal. I’m sure the real car will show more development in places,
Obviously the barge boards and floor edges are hiding detail, and I doubt McLaren missed the the blown diffuser trick, even if they have, if they feel it’s of benefit it will be an easy addition as the airflow is already directed in that place.
The FW end plates look designed to work with edges of the front wing to pull the air out
The MCL39 still looked under-developed compared to other cars IMO, But that demonstrates clearly that it’s not the individual parts that make a car fast, it’s how they work as one that is important
