Aston Martin AMR26

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

3.10.9 Front Wing Rotation System
Except for the forwardmost volume, the Front Wing Profiles, including any fitted gurney and
portions of Front Wing Auxiliary Components that are attached to these volumes, may be
rotated about a fixed axis whilst the car is in motion. Bodywork that can rotate in such way is
defined as FW Flap
The "forwardmost volume" (assuming first element) isn't allowed to rotate.

From this it looks like the suspension arms connect at the sides of the exhaust. :)

Not sure how all the structural parts can be there, right next to the hot exhaust.

This car has at least five interesting points:

Front suspension
Rear suspension
Nose
Cooling outlets
Undercut / floating sidepod.

It's wild.

I still can't figure out how the front wing is supposed to pivot. Is it a fixed front wing for the first test?

Yeah. I was wondering if the suspension arms go through the rear wing pylon and connect directly to the exhaust, or if the pylon itself is bolted to the exhaust.

I'm guessing they don't, for now.

Sensors for something, all that casing looks temporary molded to the nose

I'm guessing those are driver cooling inlets on the sides. There's nothing else between that and the cockpit. They're mandatory, right? The only other thing I see is the teeny hole on the tip of the nose.

Looks like there is a cooling inlet on the nose itself!
F1 would have been such a boring sport without Adrian!

On the video there's clearly nothing there though. Just that tiny hole on the tip. And that trapezoid cover or whatever is also visible on this image. Is it AI enhanced?

This looks like they're using the rear suspension arm as a beam wing now that it's been removed in the regs.

Can’t stop the Newey cult from going bananas of the most mundane thing and even inventing things that clearly don’t exist
