They aren't going to be going for record breaking laps here, they seem to have a non-active front wing too. But lets hope they get some decent laps in tomorrow.

No info about the cause of the failure?

While initially appearing to be a technical breakdown, PlanetF1.com understands that the stop was precautionary, with nothing having broken on the car.

It’s been suggested that an electrical issue, perhaps related to the Honda PU’s communication with the car, was spotted by the track marshals by way of the car’s LED lights, with Stroll being signalled to stop as a result.

Aston Martin mechanics wearing high-voltage gloves attended the scene of the recovery of the AMR26 as the marshals lifted it onto a flatbed truck before bringing it back to the pits.

Mindblowing, it is by far the most innovative design
Ok then please list those innovative designs.

The solutions I see are things that existed before or exists on other cars too.

People should stop drawing 0 big conclusions.
All the cars we see are very basic versions of themselves, and I presume most of the interesting details are not on them yet.
Look at the suspension design (esp. the. rear) and stop harrassing :)

Q: Lance, the new Aston Martin is here. You took it out on track for the first time this afternoon. How good did it feel to get out there on track?

Lance Stroll: Yeah, it felt good. Nice to be back in the car after a few weeks off. Everyone did a good job at getting the car ready today. It was a long day for all the mechanics and everyone on the team pushing flat out to get the car ready.

So we got a few laps in the end of the day and it was feeling good.

Q: You touched on it there. Just how big a project has this been for the team? A new car to new regulations, but the new Honda power unit as well. Can you tell us a little bit about that process, how it's all come together?

Stroll: Yeah, a big project, very complex, a lot of hours have gone into this machine so, it was nice to get behind the wheel and getting used to the new Honda power unit and these cars. So yeah, it's exciting.

Q: I guess, you're pretty excited at this point as well to explore it a little bit more when you get out there again. What's on the agenda for the rest of this Barcelona shakedown for the team?

Stroll: Just more laps, more learning. We have to learn the car, understand its strengths and weaknesses and just collect more information on these new cars. #AstonMartinF1 #F1Testing #F1

"wow mindblowing!"
"such innovation!"
"much radical!"

The car has a few solutions of its own, yes, just like any other car we have seen so far. People can chill a bit until we have better images...

Video of Stroll's retirement

That sounded like something broke in the car. Engine or gearbox?

Gary Anderson is the worst rated technical journalist on this forum.
And he listed also nothing.
And you only "listed" one thing, its suspension. Just because it looks a bit different, it does not mean it is a genius solution. Nothing in engineering works like you imagine.
Please stop this.
