In an interview, Binotto raised the possibility that an engine manufacturer, upon discovering that its power unit is significantly more powerful than its rivals, might intentionally limit the engine to be "only" 10 hp more powerful, just to avoid giving the ADUO benefit to its rivals.
Someone at Red Bull has already mentioned that the ADUO benefits are so enormous that an engine manufacturer could use them to go from the worst to the best engine mid-season. Therefore, Binotto believes that not even a manufacturer with a dominant PU wants to give this type of benefit to its rivals.
I'm very curious to see if this will actually happen, if a dominant engine is nerfed, creating an artificial parity just to avoid giving these benefits to its rivals. In theory, this makes perfect sense.
