A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Now that someone posted pictures from the back of those cars what exactly is the mousehole that everyone talks about and why Mclaren doesn't have it? And what's with the different light colors from the back of these cars? Are there different levels of battery life or something?

There are quite a few differences at the rear. The brake air outlets, the diffuser geometry and volume, the vertical things (I forgot what they're called), and the bottleneck are also very different. The Alpine rear end should be included here. I couldn't figure out where they bleed the hot air out of the engine compartment.

Mclaren moves the entire flap including the center section when they activate the active aero.

Imagine the money spent to independently develop these diffusors, just for them to look so identical... 🤣🤣🤡

The wing-like profiles on the sides of the diffuser are FIA geometry so not a lot of money, if any, was spent there. The actual diffusers are quite different, especially McLaren's

Could someone point out in the diffusor picture, where is the "mousehole" on the Red Bull and Mercedes when looking from behind?

The repair patch looks like they've experienced too much movement or signifying a minor level of integrity failure local to that wing mount pylon.
