Ferrari SF-26

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Has anyone got any clear shots of the PU yet?

Those upper suspension elements are really high.
Exactly, wanted to comment on that as well.
It is just as high as on the Aston, just more forward. Does not look that extreme, but could be just as effective.

The Ferrari, like the Mercedes, looks somewhat basic but a really good foundation to modify and build from. I like this approach as it doesn't really tie them into a specific aero architecture, and gives them options to change in future if a specific design becomes meta.

Yes it does. Ferrari seem quite happy with it as well, they seem quietly confident.

Its the start of a new reg set as well. Unless you find a silver bullet which is harder and harder to do aero wise, you might as well give yourself options to be flexible.

I don't think the Ferrari is basic at all. There's a lot of detail in many areas. The floor is the most important piece anyway.

I think this picture helps to better understand/interpret the Ferrari sidepods. Ferrari has minimal centerline cooling and more sidepod radiators. That is why the sidepods are wider. You can't just look at their car and say the sidepods are too wide without understanding the full picture.

Interesting finer details and some clever grey area ideas. Am I right in thinking that the 17 to 21 high rake cars eventually had no diffuser sidewalls either?

I find these details quite innovative, but I am confused why are they showing all these so early on...
I think these are not just fine details but concepts, which they will retain, so I would wait with such things till Melbourne... I hope they'll prove me wrong. And I am not up to date to all the diffusers out there in 2026. Perhaps not that unique?

First problem for Ferrari, Red flag. Could be fuel tank testing too, so close to the end of the session...?
