Jesus. The ego of Newey is on full display. Regardless of who is to blame the responsible thing to do would have been to not point fingers at this stage and strain the relationship publicly, yet Newey is being explicit in his finger pointing, he’s going out of his way to explain that the vibrations are coming from Honda. Also defending his own honor by proclaiming how competitive the chassis would be if the engine was working properly

I’m not sure this man possesses the people skills required to be TP.
Whether ego or ignorance or both, it is alarmingly close to something out of the 2015 McLaren playbook. At least he wasn’t naive enough to say it was a top chassis full stop. Which is a critical difference to 2015. But still.
I’m not even saying he’s wrong. But I don’t get what the benefit of such a statement is.
It seems like his goal is to embarrass Honda as much as possible. After the Bahrain test, it leaked that Newey said the Honda PU wasn't capable of harvesting at 250kw, or 350kw as proposed. Honda later denied this.
Now Newey put "nerve damage" into the public record and said it's all Honda's fault. Stroll said it feels like being electrocuted. Headlines: Honda PU = nerve damage, electrocution.
"nerve damage" is currently trending on my twitter...AMR is doing a bridge burning speed run.
