They have whole back of mercedes (suspension, gearbox etc) - so all the mechanics are from top team
They are at the weight limit already, while other teams are overweighted - what might be a nightmare for Alpine
They were P10 so they had the most wind tunel and simulation time.
They were the first team to push everything for 2026
They even started 2025 with basically 2024 car with minor upgrades, all pushing to 2026.

This team is rubbish. Renault should have done the opposite. Sell or close Enstone, build new facility near Viry, base it on French engineers - in Paris there is a huge base. And then develop real works team. But this is money.

So they showed all of us, its just a marketing banner. They werent and arent any ambitions.

Such a shame for French motorsport and brand with such a motorsport history. Such a shame.

- Renault group killed Renault sport. There is no target or anything to make Renault sporty, they are going full EV / hybrid.

- Alpine is a new brand taking bad decision, the A110 is gone and they just have a suv and a sporty R5

So in that context, the formula 1 team is just a marketing banner that is suppose to cost 0€

They actually are in F1 because they already have a place secured and if it costs 0€ it is ok. Nothing more.

What a strange reaction to P7 in sprint qualifying, a few tenths off the back of the best 3 teams. You’ve clearly got something against the team though I only ever see you bashing them. I have to wonder if you worked at Viry and got laid off considering the vitriol you spew on a daily basis

Now he is always performing on qualy, I want to see the race on sunday, this team with this engine has no other choice than being "best of the rest" , fighting against Haas
