Every time Max goes through the esses section I'm expecting him to crash, the car looks so nervous, it's incredible. Car is now slower than Racing bulls and Audi
Even with all that, he was faster than Hadjar in S1 actually. He lost out in S2 and S3.
Hadjar was slower on his 2nd run in sector 1, his 1st run was similar to Max's best.

Hope not to see a Vettel 2014 repeat with Max.

So he leaves next year for a better car and has 1-2 more attempts at a championship before retiring

It's not impossible for Max to move to Mercedes actually, but he has said he would like to retire at RedBull. I just wonder if that desire still remains if RedBull is unable to give him a car capable of fighting for worthwhile things in the short term.

It's not certain anymore that doors at Mercedes are still open for him.

I've heard and seen a number of rumours that Max has already signed for Mercedes. Even if George wins the championship. Merc will take Max.

There's not really much point signing the best drivers during these regs, their abilities are nerfed. You could easily put someone like a Lindblad in, and they'd do the job just fine instead of paying 70m every year for a Max, Lewis, Charles.

Who cares, the car is very bad, the regulations are very bad… a disgrace to calling this f1.

I am willing to bet a grand on this. It's a done deal. Toto will sabotage George's championship and let Kimi win to then let go George and bring in Max. There is no rationality to that decision, but I see that perfectly happening.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not. But it has happened in the past. Damon Hill won the championship in 1996 and Williams let him go in 1997. And he only could go to Arrows. Stranger things have happened.

So Verstappen did have the floor edge upgrade and Hadjar did not. Not a good start in the development battle if it didnt help at all. Lets see if this is also the case in the race. May be with high fuel load it is a bit better.

If they need to invest their energy in making the base of the car good, they drop behind in putting performace in the package.

Tbh on the evidence of today Hadjar could've probably pipped Gasly in q3 with the upgrade

Where's the actual evidence it is an "upgrade"?

It kinda seemed like that even at the time. Team themselves seemed surprised how much it helped.
