LH got a free pitstop, track position and 5 lap fresher tyres, over CL ; before the restart.
If there was any 'equal scenario' to beat his teammate, this was it. And still finished 2 places behind CL.

What's going to be the excuse this time ?
I know its only the 3rd race with this car, to have driver comparison talk, but I think the amount of gloating (where are your posts ? mods deleted ?) from LH fanbase was too much post China, and deserved a reply like this.

Interesting how Hamilton’s car seems perfectly fine over and over when Russell is behind, but somehow turns into a brick on the straights once Leclerc is the one applying pressure. Bit odd, no?

I’d like to have seen the FIA do something a bit more constructive than see you all in 4-5 weeks.

Perhaps they could have given all teams 200kms
Of additional testing mileage, extra CFD time, added an additional European race in the 4 week summer stand down as it would have given them several months to organise etc etc.

Why are you comparing a stint in which Leclerc was defending extremely hard against faster cars while Hamilton was managing behind? It doesn't make any sense. Outside the tyre management, he was also forced to deploy energy in a suboptimal way to defend.

It's a pointless comparison. Both drivers did a very good race.

Why wouldn’t you? It’s a stint by pilots in the same team on the same tyre.

HAM let the Merc past early & found some free air. LEC kept the McL, etc at bay and damaged his tyres. This is the story of the race, there’s no sense in dismissing it like it’s irrelevant

If Lewis had a problem, they should have swapped earlier.

At some point he may have to ask himself whether loyalty is worth more than giving himself a real shot somewhere else, especially when the next true prodigy seems to be emerging in another garage.

I'd have to agree with this..the only problem with Charles is his loyalty. And the worst part of it is if Charles does decide to leave...there is nowhere he can go. Mercedes seems to have signed Verstappen and Antonelli is proving a formidable driver. Mclaren have 2 long term deals. Redbull is on the decline. The AMR miracle is more a failure....so its only ferrari for now.
