Seen a lot of in-fighting between the fans, arguing who is the 'better' driver. I dont understand the point, its different when you compare/defend drivers from other teams since they have different cars but here its just pointless. As a fan, you cant defend your driver out of being outperformed by their teammate with the same car. They have to face the fire on their own to defend their standing. Who ever wins is the better driver and there can be no doubt.

In this case we know both Lec and Ham are incredibly close. Like in China and Japan, the momentum will shift from race to race. One race does not decide anything. We will see who is the better driver at the end.
The truth is they are only close & will likely finish the season close because this formula handcuffs the drivers.
Personally I feel if it wasn't for that, Lec beats Hamilton comfortably over the season.
This battery formula is ---. If they just increase the fuel flow a bit and bring the compression ratio back to 18:1 it would be enough. But im sure all of us here know that

Did Vasseur say anything about the macarena wing or what specific upgrades would be brought in Miami?

I doubt he’s going to give too much away, but the way he’s talking I can see it being pretty significant upgrades.

I’m sure they will use a filming day to get the bits on the car and testing.

I can see ADUO coming into force, which will really benefit the team, I don’t think they will need to bridge much to become really competitive. The car clearly can handle the high speeds very well.

If only the powertrain was 60:40 instead of 50:50. You just sense there’s no way of really pushing the boundaries of the drivers, tyres or chassis in the current formula. It’s all about the power train and I guess aero efficiency

The way he said "it'll be a new F1 after Miami" makes me have high hopes. Almost too high. They seem extremely confident in that whatever they have in the pipeline will bridge the gap significantly which doesn't feel like just the macarena wing to me.

Aren't there some whisperings that 50:50 is set to change too?

Autoracer had an article mentioning a filming day in Monza during the break

@Platinum_Zealot !!!! how are you coping ?
LH got a free pitstop, track position and 5 lap fresher tyres, over CL ; before the restart.
If there was any 'equal scenario' to beat his teammate, this was it. And still finished 2 places behind CL.

What's going to be the excuse this time ?
I know its only the 3rd race with this car, to have driver comparison talk, but I think the amount of gloating (where are your posts ? mods deleted ?) from LH fanbase was too much post China, and deserved a reply like this.
Wow. How barefaced...

I guess it's fair game to flame bait if it's Lewis Hamilton and PZ. :?

If you read the post before yours it was deployment issues. A glitch of using the deployment in an unusual way cause it to derate too much. I'm not too concerned. Old man Hamilton has 8 WDC and a full career 105 wins. I don't mind Leclerc winning his first even if Lewis doesn't get another.

He will probably play the victim and report you to the mods. Be careful

Interesting how Hamilton’s car seems perfectly fine over and over when Russell is behind, but somehow turns into a brick on the straights once Leclerc is the one applying pressure. Bit odd, no?
Be careful as well !

Anyway, I see Ferrari getting overtaken by other teams towards the end of the season. I guess RB and Audi will pass them as Mclaren already have
Wow. Double teaming at it too.

Nope. I am public enemy number 1. Mods won't do anyting about it.

Lol you see. I get the feeling they are not happy with Lewis and Charles being incredibly close as you say!

Because this Covid riddled old man Lewis MUST be destroyed by the in his prime Charles. Gaps of one to two tenths are not enough! He must be blowin into oblvion!

It's sad really because, i think the LH side of the team thread are relaxed with Charles being ahead on pace. It's only natural he's the new generation, he technically should be quicker. And I'm just here as new Ferrari "team member" just wanting to experience glory in Red. I don't really care by who wins.

It's best both sides work as a team until we have a dominant car.

Well, it might be good to just do a 'team thread detox'. I did that in winter and I don't think I lost much

On the other hand, when does ADUO kicks in? I read confilcting reports on that and got confused. I'd be extremely surprised if Ferrari wasn't 2% down on power to Mercedes ICE, especially if they are really using this temporary engine.
The chassis seem pretty good, so if they can up the power a bit (and who knows, maybe CR hot test will steal a few HP from Mercedes), I can see Ferrari in contention for wins in the later season.

Hamilton races Charles harder than anyone else, much like Carlos did before him. LH is definitely not ok with Charles being faster, and it would be disappointing if he was.

We have had a couple of great shows from 2 of the very best racers, showing us what clean wheel to wheel driving looks like.

Just stop responding to it, and block the people that do it lots. I have a few users blocked and I don't see their posts unless I click a button to view it. If you never respond, it will stop quite quickly.

They can qualify for ADUO after Monaco I believe. But AR reported they are aiming for early July for engine changes so we wouldn't see anything for some time. Even July feels optimistic to me with the question of reliability. Granted there are only 2-3 rounds between Monaco and mid-July but that's still almost half the season with a best case scenario on the date.

I feel pretty confident Ferrari will win a race this year but it will be something like what happened in Monza in 2024 - solid car and good luck - rather than them ever having a better car than Merc.

Not only Mercedes but also McLaren will certainly be a threat later in the season.. if not very soon if they can bring their car weight down and find better reliability.

Wasn't there a plan to bring the v2 version of the Macarena wing in Miami ? Hopefully that helps cover up some of the losses in a straight line in the meantime.

They were due to bring a large package to Bahrain, but as the race has been cancelled, they are planning to bring version 1.5 to Miami.
