Then probably you didn't see the telemetry and huge top speed difference. This honda engine like run 1 cylinder less
Clear? How do you know how much extra weight these countermeasures cost?Ashwinv16 wrote: ↑02 May 2026, 18:51imma be honest, its very clear the chassis was what held them back today. Car has pace on par with the Haas despite the worn softs. Just couldnt turn into corners at all so had to be latter on throttle on corner exit. meaning got stuck behind. Also cooling issues meant lot off lift and coast.
youre right, just seen the telemetry, its sad because on slow speed corners the car didnt look badOnEcRiTiCaL wrote: ↑03 May 2026, 09:54Then probably you didn't see the telemetry and huge top speed difference. This honda engine like run 1 cylinder less
Now again ALO pointed Zandvoort ; (performance) "it will be after summer break" "until the race 14, it will not occur"
Probably because the engine is so far behind it might get a concession on top of ADUO, and they have about 10% of the mileage of Mercedes, which means they have very little to no data about the car actually driving on track.Badger wrote: ↑01 May 2026, 17:56That's the engine side. I'm wondering why they haven't brought any aero updates two months into the season.diffuser wrote: ↑01 May 2026, 17:54https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/arti ... ZFGbgK5Iew
They seem to have made alot of progress with the chassis that AMR left behind in Japan.
I think they is gamemanship on aston and honda to get more concessions to develop the pu more .its perfomance on race is better than in quali.during the quali both cars reach a terminal speed for which the car cant exceed like it has bin capped at a particular speed, thats not how things look naturally.OnEcRiTiCaL wrote: ↑03 May 2026, 09:54Then probably you didn't see the telemetry and huge top speed difference. It is significant, but I wouldn’t try to put a number on it.Badger wrote: ↑03 May 2026, 09:44The power deficit is very significant. This is well more than 50 HP.https://i.postimg.cc/ncFhwBd1/speed(6).png
Now they can focus on engine mapping and kinetic energy recovery optimization. Perhaps improvements to the transmission and transmission software development as well. Alonso mentioned transmission problems here. The performance updates he's talking about might be a big package. But with what I've mentioned, it's possible for them to catch the team ahead, the one-second ahead one. It's a performance update after all.Petebass wrote: ↑03 May 2026, 12:36Now again ALO pointed Zandvoort ; (performance) "it will be after summer break" "until the race 14, it will not occur"

I see ADUO as the main reason. After suffering through 3 races, why turn up the wick here? Plus, you just don't turn up the wick in one shot. You got to see the fallout of doing it. FP is best but I guess Sprint race is good too. They haven't done any 350 kw recovery testing. They probably haven't tested alot of the PU limits.FNTC wrote: ↑03 May 2026, 17:09Whether the PU is way behind, or if they are running it detuned still, either due to vibrations, gearbox, sandbagging for ADUO, etc is difficult to tell. But its obvious that they are running lower power than the others. And I agree that it doesn't make much sense to throw money at aero upgrades yet until they have improved the PU.
