It wasn't just the VSC. He had 7 second gap after the pitstop, so they were just too slow overall.euv2 wrote: ↑24 May 2026, 23:43Think Max was possibly faster than MCL today, and about the same pace as FER, the car seems to have problems with heating up the tires, so the stop -start with the VSCs affected the car too much. Still very encouraging, Mercedes a good 0.5-0.6s faster still in race pace.
Lewis started pumping in quick times right from the pit, so the Ferrari got the mediums to work better, it took a while for Max to get the mediums running, he has the 2nd fastest time on mediums after Kimi in the race. The Ferrari was marginally faster in the 2nd stint, but on softs there was nothing between them.AR3-GP wrote: ↑24 May 2026, 23:44It wasn't just the VSC. It was pretty even on softs, medium bit slower than Ferrari.AR3-GP wrote: ↑24 May 2026, 23:44It wasn't just the VSC. When you see a clearly struggling and super slow Leclerc beating super comfortable and pleased with setup Hadjar, you know which car is faster.euv2 wrote: ↑24 May 2026, 23:49Lewis started pumping in quick times right from the pit, so the Ferrari got the mediums to work better, it took a while for Max to get the mediums running, he has the 2nd fastest time on mediums after Kimi in the race. Not sure about Monaco either, but... Verstappen was fast in the slow corners today which is great considering the setup issues. Not a sprint so more time to get it right. Its all about qualifying so...
Agreed, its where he lost P2 today.
