He's last anyway. Make changes and start from pit lane. Focus on Quali and GP.
At what point do we start to question whether Newey really is still as good as everyone thinks? Perhaps his approach no longer works as well as it once did.
Oh not this again. Aerodynamic knowledge is knowledge. Some people just have a deeper understanding of science than others and ones who don’t understand that concept of how knowledge works, always talk like it’s a skill you loose. There is a reason the super star faculty in academia just know more as they get older. That never really goes away. Newey is one of the greatest aerodynamicist ever, he hasn’t forgotten laws of aerodynamics lol.WardenOfTheNorth wrote: ↑21 Aug 2026, 17:27At what point do we start to question whether Newey really is still as good as everyone thinks? Pretty certain he didn't design the internals of the "ARM" nor do we know the cause. I saw them refilling the hydraulic stuff in the garage...makecry wrote: ↑21 Aug 2026, 17:33Oh not this again. What a joke…KimiRai wrote: ↑20 Aug 2026, 14:48Thought they were going to penalise as Honda's Zandvoort report mentioned changes to the electric side, but maybe those aren't hardware/parts? I might have been wrong then.
Autoracer say Honda will be 15HP at first and "intention is then to get to the 30hp initially planned, if reliability and performance confirm the data seen in development."
Lance:Later in the day, Sprint Qualifying saw driveability issues arise for both drivers, including Fernando's rear wing not opening and resulting in lost lap time. This unfortunately meant our drivers concluded P19 and P22.
The team will now analyse this data and use it to inform decisions for Saturday's sessions.
Alonso:"I think there was more there today. We were struggling with the driveability, and there were a few other things that weren't quite right, so we need to understand why. It's really windy out there, but it's the same for everyone.
"We'll go through everything tonight, look at the data, and try to make some improvements for tomorrow."
Both drivers plus the team talking about driveability problems aka Honda software I would assume?"Things seemed to go okay for us in Free Practice, but then we experienced some driveability issues in Sprint Qualifying, and it was difficult to stop the car sometimes.
"The rear wing didn't open for us either, so we lost lap time with that. It's very early days with Honda's upgrade package, so we'll try to understand more in the Sprint."
We had uh yeah problems on the on the engine drivability was pushing on the brakings. So yeah, it was difficult to stop the car sometimes because the engine I think was overdelivering. Uh and then uh apparently it didn't work the SLM for me. So I could not open the rear wing. Um so yeah, combination of both made the the laps very tricky.
