Lewis is a 7XWDC team builder that's what they hired him for and he is delivering. It's up to Charles to learn how a champion operates and apply that to take the team builing over from Lewis, but it seems he has other more short-sighted plans.
Jesus... Whining loudly when things don't go your way is not team building. Hamilton won a lot because of dominant cars and a mediocre teammate.

Not only that, driver's don't build teams, not since Bruce McLaren and Jack Brabham. They might arrange or earn special treatment, but that's it.

Nobody has to argue that Leclerc deserved a penalty at Turn 2. The stewards called it a racing incident. Fine.

But “not worthy of a penalty” and “a sensible thing for a Ferrari driver to do” are not the same question.

Hamilton was alongside, ended up in the gravel and dropped outside the points.

So this argument that because Hamilton attacked Charles at Turn 1, Charles was somehow entitled to “return the aggression” is ridiculous.

Hamilton blundered intot the gravel, Leclerc had nothing to do with it. He was forced rather wide in turn one by hamilton so it was not possible to take the second turn tighter, there was no more room to be given.
Hamilton didn't account for that so he got burnt. Self inflicted.

Hamilton only has a gap to Leclerc because of the Brembo brake issues. And since Ferrari is not a championship contender I see no reason for them to favor one over the other.

The fuse has been lit :
La miccia è stata accesa :

Let me fetch the popcorn before the dynamite explodes :D

(on 2nd thought, I would say Elkaan brought in the dynamite, rigged the building with it, laid out all the wiring, and simply has been waiting for this moment, I think. Getting rid of Sainz is the worst decision this team has made since 'fuel flow gate', IMHO)
The biggest problem of Lewis is that he thinks he alone is the team. Now the question is if Ferrari will play his little game like Toto did in Mercedes, or if they wont.

Charles is a product of Ferrari - literally. And to push him down for a possible glory run of an aged driver in his quest for the 8th championship is atleast disrespectful to say the least. Aparently Charles is not going out without a fight and he is absolutely right. Should he really be at the sidelines so Lewis can get his shot? I personally dont think so.
Didn't Lewis volunteer to let Charles through in China last year? You either forgot or you're lying.

Leclerc can fight all he wants but he should be careful...a few more crashes and he'll get the Vettel treatment.

And he's not that good if he has to be on the edge to be fast. He's strikes me as a better version of Maldonado and if woo is him if next year's car happens to suit Hamilton.
Performance of Lewis last year was so poor that stepping aside was a no brainer. Charles single handely carried the honor of Ferrari.

This year Lewis started strong, but is fading away. He benefited from this cruzing F1 with practically no on edge driving. Next year will be harder for him. You shall see.

The driver drama is a distraction from what the team really needs to focus on - even with the much hyped ADUO2 upgrade the car is still too slow on the straights. Forget fighting Mercedes, Max was driving by the Ferraris like they were back markers. The VCARB cars absolutely monstered Bearman down the straights. They need to find more ICE output for 2027 or things will just get worse with a 5% higher fuel flow.

Charles was free to use .........the entire track -1 car width Lewis took up almost on the grass, to get a better line through the corner.

Half the grid went through the chicane 2 by 2 following Lewis and Charles and nobody else went into the gravel. Infact, cars that didn't even have anyone outside of them still left PLENTY of space incase there was a car there.

Lewis passed Piastri at the same corner, at proper racing speed, after the restart, without putting Piastri in the gravel.

And yes even ADUO cant save this engine in straight line speed.

There was racing - some cars got squeezed...it was good to see some elbows out. Who cares about team orders and such :) Just race!

I cannot bear to even ask - but were there no impediments to it - Which driver pairing do you tifosi think would actually get Ferrari into a winning position?

My view - Max - and with a defined no2 would be about the only chance to make it work. He is old enough to have the weight of his opinion taken seriously.
I can't think of any other driver of the right age and performance that would do it

Yeah, letting his teammate through will definitely win him a title. Do you even hear yourself? It was the first lap, first corner, not the end of the world, these incidents happen, more so on the first lap, which is why stewards ignored it. But let's keep at each others' throats for this and completely ignore the fact that the PU is not good even after 2 ADUO upgrades and the strategy is still questionable.
You don't win races/titles in the first corner but you can lose them.

And rule 1 of racing is don't take out your team mate.
Nobody took out anyone, it was a racing incident, typical first lap first corner incident. Drivers have done this countless times in the past, Hamilton did it to his teammates as well, nothing new.
Charles has effectively put his hands up afterwards.

“With Lewis it was a way too close into Turn 1 and unfortunately in Turn 2 – I don't know if we had contact or whatsoever,” he explained.

“I was quite a lot on the inside curve and tried to make the corner, which I didn't do it tight enough, and then I obviously only saw in the mirrors what happened which is never what you want between two cars, between two cars of the same team.”

Given a suitable car and a tame no.2, frankly half a dozen drivers could do it - even the two old sods. Max is nothing special in that regard.

You do realise that this applies to Max too, and it applied to Michael too.

Every time someone says "X only won because he had the best car" and then we look around and see absolutely no one else winning titles in mediocre cars, it's too funny.

Yea i dont get the "they just won cause they had the fastest car" stuff, you can have the fastest car and still not perform well, like Perez or have a drop in performance. You need a driver in top form and a team executing good strategies and pitstops, fast car doesnt automatically equal wdc all the time. Lando almost lost the WDC last year despite having the fastest car and i remember right won the WDC he talked about how he regrets telling Lewis stuff like how he just won because he had a fast car and how he could take back that stuff he said to him because he too realized it isnt just about having the fastest car

The VCARBs have a macarena wing and Haas doesn't. Furthermore, Ferrari still elected to run a very extensive exhaust wing setup which cost horsepower:

At the same time, Red Bull chose to remove their exhaust bracket completely for Monza. This was noted in Red Bull's update sheet:

Ferrari also chose to run the inefficient "cat ears" from the high downforce spec, while every other team removed them for Monza:

So these are significant factors in why Ferrari's appeared "slow" on the straights. It's not a reflection of the real PU gap. The ADUO 2 engine is probably very good. The difference between the two Haas cars was massive (Bearman on new spec, Ocon on old spec). Ferrari just ran a package with a higher energy consumption compared to others around them.

Lewis is the only driver so far this season to finish every race in the points, and the only driver in the top 10 to have actually finished every race. And, along with Colapinto, is one of two drivers to start and finish every race. Plenty of season left for these fun little stats to change, of course.

Exactly. You have to also perform for the entire season.

Look at 2009 when Button won by the skin of his teeth having started the season on a flier winning 6 of the first 7 races with 3rd on the other race. And then for the rest of the season he only had 2 more podiums. Vettel had two mechanical DNFs after starting the season very poorly in Australia and Malaysia. Button was lucky that Vettel had such a poor start to his season and some mechanical bad luck as he'd qualified no worse than P4 in the 5 bad races he had - the car was obviously good enough to score decent points.

Look at Rosberg - he retired in 2016 because he knew he didn't have it in himself to do it again for a whole season to try to win another title.

Yeah, he is saying he made a mistake, it is good if you're taking his word for it, because most people here, including you, sounded like Charles did it on purpose and he wants to beat his teammate at all costs.

When you say Charles took Lewis out, it implies two things:

1. Intention
2. Race ending incident

First is not true in my opinion, and second is not true (fact), so no, Charles didn't take Lewis out, he made a mistake, and in the end, it did not cost anything.

People here are being angry for all the wrong reasons, the only ones that deserve anger/disappointment towards them are the team/technical department.

You can take someone out without intending to - happens plenty often enough in all motorsport. There does not need to be malice aforethought involved, although a lack of awareness of what's going on around you is, perhaps, as bad.
