Or simply the new rules favor the complete package and some drivers (Charles, Piastri, Russell) don't have what it takes if they can't adapt. How many times has Norris changed his driving style and adapted. He even said it on his interview. The new rules are different (bad maybe) but no matter the rules the best drivers will still shine. It's not the first time that happened and not the last time it will happen. By the way woocaz. The score so far is 8-5 in races (
with half of them Hamilton having faced unfair penalties,
hits from other drivers or Ferrari being incompetent), 5-4 in podiums, 0-4 in crashes. A cost of 30 to 40 points. Add those and the distance would be more than 60 to 70 points. Doesn't reflect well on Leclerc on the contrary being behind a 41 year old when he should be faster due to age.

And really mate? You are insinuating that Antonelli is fast due to the new rules when he gave a masterclass driving in just a few laps passing his teammate two times last Sunday? Even Max adapted after a few races.

Maybe the battery change (60-40) might change things again (I doubt it as you still need to save battery) but what are you going to say if the right order doesn't change and becomes even worse for Charles?
In your opinion, who is a driver who’s the ‘complete package’?

Hamilton: easily beaten by Russell 22–24, destroyed by Charles in 25, he is on par with Charles in 26 Venturi cars almost retire him so NOT complete package

Norris: WDC in 25 (with the help of the team) good in Venturi cars, its getting better in current regs.
so yeah, complete package

Russell: good in Venturi cars, beat Hamilton 22-24, bad in the current regs, destroyed by rookie
so, NOT complete package

Verstappen: a weak team-mates, so hard to compare, struggling in current regs, but still complete package

Leclerc: good in Venturi cars, nearly perfect last season, on par with Hamilton in the current regs
so, complete package? (with a small question mark)
with half of them Hamilton having faced unfair penalties,
dont get me started #-o
Monaco: speeding in the pitlane 5s
Silverstone: falsestart 5s
Spa: he hit Russell 5s
Hungary: 3-grid penalty for impeding Oscar + speeding in the pitalne 5s
Zandvoort: double yellow infringement

Which of these penalties is unfair?

Its not just my opinion. At this moment the majority of the Ferrari fans are wondering what Leclerc has given to Ferrari these 9 years. But if we want to talk lets bring some factors to the table. 2022 Hamilton was the test dummy and Russell as an opportunist that exploited the results of another mans work. 2023 Hamilton demolished Russell after he stopped experimenting. 2024 he was with one foot outside Mercedes as the team abandoned him so not an equal fight. 2025 was in a completely new team on a car based on Leclerc for years (so its not the Venturri cars but many other factors that worked against him). 2026 he is demolishing Leclerc 8-5 wins, 5-4 podiums 0-4 crashes while Leclerc has given 1.900.000 in car damages while in half of the races that Hamilton was behind usually had another driver damaging his car or Leclerc playing for himself instead of the team game and Ferrari being reluctant to interfere like a top championship winning team should. Without them the difference would have been much wider. Finally half of these penalties were a farse or Ferrari mistakes in the situation of Piastri. Especially the Spa and Monaco ones. Meanwhile Leclerc escaped scott free so many times I lost count. Especially that slam dunk penalty he should take in Spa when he destroyed my Mclaren driver's (Piastri) race.

I understand that you have a preference to Charles as I have to Lewis but the situation isnt gonna change. Lewis is the better driver this year no matter how you see it and has given more to the team than Charles did in 9 years. Anyway. This is my last message regarding that.

Im curious to hear opinions about upgrades for Madrid.

Silverstone, on him

Monaco was the fia's system error, with it not actually measuring the speed the drivers were going at, multiple drivers got pinged for speeding, all at the same speed(0.1 kph) even though they had their pit limiters on before crossing the line, Thats why Alpine successfully appealed Gasly's penalty because he was the only one not to serve it that race

https://www.racefans.net/2026/06/12/gas ... penalties/

Spa shouldnt have been a penalty. Fred, Toto and Russell all said he shouldnt have gotten a penalty because it was a racing incident, the fia then had a meeting with the drivers to address it, along with the Charles and Piastri incident.
https://www.grandprix.com/news/hamilton ... lties.html

Lewis never told by his team piastri was on a hot lap, until it was too late and he physically couldnt get out the way, Fred said that one was on the team. Him speeding in the pitlane there however was on him.

There was no double yellow infrigement in Zandvoort, i think your thinking of last year

These cars do not reward hero laps, they punish them, that is why Leclerc doesn't have his usual quali edge. As time goes on and he adapts, and as the power split shifts slightly towards ICE, I expect he will recover some of his edge. Hamilton's experience and patient driving style has really favoured him with these energy limited cars. Leclerc needs to incorporate some of that into his own driving to regain his edge. The raw speed still favours him it just needs to be channeled correctly.
Im curious as to why Charles is given leeway in these regs (which i think he should) but not Lewis, is it because hes doing much better than the GE regs people assume this as fast as he could be and isnt also negatively affected by these regs? i wouldnt say Lewis' driving tyle is "patient", at least not in qualifying, hes always been aggressive and why the bridgestone era was so good for him and why he fell off in the GE era that rewarded a stable driving style more. i mean even Max's comments on why these regs punish driver skill describes lewis' driving style being affected

This is correct. Hamilton never had this patient/fluent driving style like some are saying. One should have a look at the Mclaren years and compare Button vs Hamilton. You can see the difference there. More recently compare qualifying laps in 2021 and it's actually Verstappen having the more fluent style by braking earlier and V-ing the corner less than Hamilton. Hamilton is/was great at getting/keeping temperature in the tires without overheating (yes yes also depends on the car bla bla) which is why he managed some incredible races like Monaco 2016.

He who struggled with full commitment and driving on the bleeding edge in the last regulation will stand to benefit in the new regulation. He who mastered full commitment and driving on the bleeding edge in the last regulation will struggle to mentally adapt to the "slower is faster" approach.

It's not so much about how Lewis drove in his prime, it's about the fact that he couldn't match Charles (or George) for one lap pace at the end. He couldn't drive the car with the same commitment as them, but now that is no longer required. It's more about picking the braking spot that the software says, not braking the latest.

and both can still be negatively affected by these regs. You dismiss the last regs not suiting him as to why he struggled against his teammates but then use these regs to explain why charles is struggling

I don't see it that way. I see it as a relative game between two drivers and one will always benefit. Charles clearly had the edge in terms of driving on the bleeding edge, and so did George in 24. Now it's more complicated as Max outlines.

The fact that Lewis was the quali meister who drove hero laps back in his prime isn't relevant to who benefits today. He's 41, not 28.

I don't buy into the narrative that Lewis only struggled because of GE, I think he was also declining with age. There's also a big difference in how they "struggled". Lewis was clearly not capable of driving those cars to the same pace as his teammates, hence why he was being beaten by a large margin in quali (24 and 25). Charles now is probably driving the car close to the limit, and so is Lewis, because there is basically no pace difference between them over one lap. The issue at hand is that how you reach the limit has changed, and some (like Max) would argue it's easier now because it doesn't require the same commitment and edge feel. It's software driven, energy driven.

Im not even talking about "prime" lewis, we can go back to lewis in his 30's with his fight against max. Russell has never been an "on the bleeding edge" driver, he himself describes his driving style and smooth and precise. which imo helped him alot in an era with sensitive cars that required the airflow under the floor to not be disturbed as much as possible
I'm quite a smooth, precise driver. That's always been my style.

Leclerc is undeperforming this season compared to 2024 and especially 2025.
His usual super aggressive style is not rewarded as much as much previous years. This situation, on top of having to adapt new brakes, has caused him significant issues. Now he has found a decent level in terms of speed but his "cost - benefit analysis" is still terrible. He crashed in MOnza because he started the race thinking he could have won it, when the car was good enough for P5-P6 at best. Stupid approach.

Russell, Leclerc and Verstappen all suffered from this reg change. Even Max is making way more mistakes compared to previous years. Obviously, with mediocre teammates you don't notice it as much.
I don't buy into the theory that Leclerc's aggressive style is not being rewarded. His aggressive style on the edge of the corners has been gaining him lots of laptime this year. It's silly mistakes that are costing him, not inherent lack of car control.

I'm saying driving on the bleeding edge of grip. It's not a driving style, it literally just mean maximising the available grip. Everyone tries to do it.

Charles has a real warrior spirit, like young Raikkonen did. Fight tooth and nail till the last corner or crash.

He needs a Rob Smedley type RE who can reign him in and stop throwing points away. It's not always a DNF, Miami is another good example. Tires were absolutely shot, but he still kept pushing too hard trying to get his position back on the last lap.

In Monza, a small element of bad luck with the drain cover, but again, dial it back a little.
Monza wasn't bad luck, it was him going into rage mode because he was going to loose a place to Piastri. Instead of composing himself, and attacking later in the lap or on a subsequent lap, he got on the power earlier and harder than would be normal. Look at his line compared to max in front.

Edit: also note how close he is to Max in front.

First of all how is Leclerc in terms of health? Will he be okay for the race? Also what happened with the engine of Leclerc? Did they managed to save it? Finally what's the situation of his gearbox. Is he gonna take a new one and if yes does he still have one more to take before penalties?

He was declared fit today. It surprised me. But of course first practice will be the test. It looks like a very physical track
