It's since they will use more ICE power and less battery power, and the same fuel tank size, so fair enough.

I get why, it's just annoying. I think we need to return to refuelling - I miss that element of the strategy and it would allow the cars to be smaller and lighter.

They gotta get smaller and lighter and simpler. Battery to 10-15%. I even argue to take some inches off the wheels—improve driver sight lines and reduce un-sprung weight.

Hell yes... :D

14"/15" front tyres will also look so much better. Leave rear tyres as is. :D

Because races with refuelling were so good?

Oh no, wait, they weren't. There were naff all on track overtakes because they were all decided by strategy.

The cars do need to shrink a little bit more, but refuelling would make races worse.

I watch INDYCAR too, the additional strategy element combined with short life tires makes for really good and interesting racing.

PS, I've been watching F1 since 1985, Im not saying it's a magic bullet, but it will improve the racing and give teams an extra lever to pull to try and win races etc.

Tyre changes are fake racing too and costs a tonne of money.

If there is no refueling, then Tyre changes also have to go. Why 13 sets of tyres a weekend? One set for each practice and race session is more than sufficient.

5 sets of tyres a weekend is a lot better for F1's carbon footprint.

I'd reintroduce refueling, but to lock out unnecessary strategy plays, I'd allow it only in large increments; like 50/100 or 25/75 liters (or kilos, whatever)...

Splash and goes were a fun part of the strategies before, so I’d suggest artificial limits make sense and detract from the racing.

If the car needs 180 kg of fuel for a race and all the cars by regulations are to start with a 90kg of fuel then there is going to be many strategic options. Some that can be read while others are going to a surprise.

Technically the fuel is going to be available for a 1 stop race at 50% distance. But driver can choose to make it a 2 stop race or a 3 stop race by not running to the bottom of the tank.

The lack of overtaking on track back when refueling was allowed had actually very little to do with refueling. The drivers would overtake on the track if it is possible. But back then, they had the same issue as they had now on the Madring. Because of the aerodynamics of the cars back then and the layout of some tracks, overtakes were near impossible to do, unless a massive delta between the cars existed.
Banning refueling did not solve the issue with overtakes, DRS did.
I mean on many tracks in the years after the introduction of DRS, there wasn't hardly any overtakes that didn't happen in or just after a DRS zone.
Today, take away the Overtake-mode and overtake wise it would be the early 2000's all over again.
