I think the 19m reported in May was if they were more than 10% behind on the ice, but that was never confimed, they just said more than 4%. So could be 4 or 10 or something else.

Did you watch the video ? It's reported by race.

I reread the article back in May from The Race, and the deal is not as good as it seems. The rules are very confusing, and 8 million of the so-called 19 million extra allowance has to be paid back against its engine cost cap in future seasons. Any gains that Honda makes during the off-season will harm its ability to catch-up in future seasons with a more constricted budget. No wonder Alonso is not interested in signing on for two more years if the status quo remains.

This seems like a semantics issue. They are getting 19 million for now, but not without a cost.

Also they got 2 aduos but chose to only use one. They probably dont know what to do to get more power effectively. Or are focusing on 2027.

Newey said they wanted Honda to focus solely on 2027 and forget this year's design. Spec 2, whether or not we consider it a noticeable upgrade, was a bonus.

Well the more appropriate way of saying it is that they'll be allowed to spend 19 million more than the CAP allows, where 8 comes out of future CAPs.

Which is a huge problem. Honda is not going to magically have the best engine in a year, and meanwhile, they are handicapped with development for future seasons. This must change, otherwise, what is the point of Honda staying?

I’ve given up when it comes to qualy session. Car is better in race trim. Still bad in both.

Wonder what happened in qualy anyways. Was several tenths slower in S3 compared to FP3

Well, it's a HUGE problem now... I can't see how it can get worse....We don't know if it will be a huge problem in 2028. I mean if they fail, ADUO might add 11 million or more to their CAP in 2028.

I wrote about this. My guess was, FP3 you're allowed 9MJ of recharge while in quali at Madrid it's 7.5MJ. So they just ran out of energy in S3. Quali kind of sucks cause when you lower the recharge per lap at a track like Madrid, it amplifies the weakness of the ICE.

It looks like Honda opened up the power a bit, the telemetry data showed for the first time it might have the promised 30bhp upgrade running (which ultimately broke stroll water pump and also even with the 30bhp upgrade, they still 30 of Audi and 60 bhp off Ferrari with ADUO 2 (forget Mercedes)).

Also Alonso did not have a clean lap (chronic understeer and mismanaged deployment in first straight and still ran out in sector 3) but it looks like Alonso has switched to a full race set-up (car was very laggy in response, which works good on a race trim, heavier fuel or older tyres and very likely to accommodate increased tyre pressure for the race). Also the Sector 3 difference is due to there being less deployment for Quali.

Tyre wear apparently is going to be Abysmal simply due to LA monumental's vertical load. In F2 with high psi's tyres were gone by lap 10 but despite the difference in construction they all had blisters right in the center. This means random slow punctures can happen if pushed too hard on F1 tyres that are stiffer and harder so the cut through the center will be a lot more sudden and less malleable. Worst case a car is going to fly off on the wall in monumantel due to a sudden puncture. Of course it could also be boring race but two sides to the coin.
Halo not as bad as we thought

After 13 race weekends Lance only finished 5 sprints and 4 races with Fernando finishing 5 and 8 respectively.
Quite a lot needs to be improved.
