You're showing a bunch of laps where Antonelli was just waiting for Leclerc to pit. Once Leclerc boxed, Antonelli caught the earliest flight to bologna.
Nah with these hypotheticals we will keep going back and forth, just like last year. I dont like making assumptions on how much pace a driver is holding back. I dont see a reason why Kimi would drop back 4 seconds away from Leclerc on purpose and let Max be within his overtake for a brief period.
In my opinion, I think Max, Kimi and Lando are just doing a much better job than the others, so they're creating these huge gaps now. But the difference between the cars is not as it was in the first couple of races of the season. They have strengths and weaknesses. I don't think RedBull is half a second behind in ultimate pace from either Mercedes or McLaren, but I do think McLaren have the best car now in any track where corners make the difference.
But Mercedes is still good enough to cling to them, and in Monza, they were definitely the fastest. Even with a 4 month offset with their upgrades.
EDIT:
And by the way, Max was very close to Antonelli's pace in the first stint after clearing Hamilton :
So it's not just "a bunch of laps where Kimi is holding back". RedBull/Max are good at the beginning of the stints but they lose a lot on dragged out stints compared to both Mercedes and McLaren.
