I find this 'chassis is really good, ahead of Audi, equal to Alpine' claim to be preposterous. Please submit proof in the form of data or video or something to support this claim, otherwise please dont make such ridiculous 'I have a feeling' claims. With such a poor PU, the chassis is not even getting pushed to its operational limits. There is no way to make a judgement about the chassis or for the engineers to expose it's limitations and solve them, without the chassis being exposed to lateral/longitudinal loads that other cars on the grid are getting subjected to.V10FURY wrote: ↑27 Sep 2026, 07:17This engine / PU is a disaster and there is no way that Honda can fix this by next season as this Spec 2 unit is just as bad as the Spec 1 unit. Aston have improved the car which I think is now ahead of Audi and about equal to Alpine. Not the best, but closer to the top 4 teams for sure than at the start of the season. If they had the Mercedes PU they would be fighting to be the 5th best team and closing in on Red Bull, which is still not good enough. The AMR 27 needs to be a significant step up from the current car, but if they continue with this Honda debacle they can write off 2027 as well. That is why I hope Williams agrees to swap engines so Aston can take the Mercedes unit for next year. Otherwise there is zero point in watching this green turd burger circle around for 20 laps, 3 seconds off the pace. Stroll SR must be doing everything he can to ditch this Honda contract and hopefully the FIA are assisting him.
I agree with you.venkyhere wrote: ↑27 Sep 2026, 10:23I find this 'chassis is really good, ahead of Audi, equal to Alpine' claim to be preposterous. Last they claimed they expected to be competitive with Mercedes by 2028. Whether that was grounded in reality is unknown.Rikrikrik wrote: ↑27 Sep 2026, 00:24What I’d most like to know is whether Honda knows where they’re headed with the 2027 engine so it can get closer to the others — something like: “We can have an engine as good as Ferrari’s, we know what went wrong because we underestimated the 2026 project, and we’re already making changes for the 2027 project; we just can’t improve this year because the current project is limited” — or whether they’re truly lost, have no idea what to do, and next year is going to be depressing all over again.
These parts left design/R&D about 8 weeks ago and went into manufacturing, the time it takes to make these kind of parts. I'd say they've been at the 2027 car since July. This was just a small team split up from the big team to finished up these upgrades. The main team, probably switched to 2027 in May ( 8 or so weeks before Hungary).
I hope you are right. I hope this is Toro Rosso and not the pain from the years before at McLaren.ispano6 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2026, 19:17If you're a Honda fan, just wait and see how they solve the combustion issues and come up with the solution the Honda way. This season is a growing pains year. RedBull went through it with Toro Rosso but stuck with it and had patience. McLaren did eventually have 1 driver's championship/2 constructors compared to 4 and 3 for RedBull and 21/22 wins in a single season besting the 11/12 of McLaren with both being Honda engines. The motivation is there but it isn't easy, which is what makes success even sweeter. People sour now have unrealistic expectations of the challenge and the juggernaut Mercedes is. Patience is a virtue. AMR wasn't a top team last year with Merc power either. Time will tell what this team is made of.
You need to give Newey a chance. It's only his 1st full year as head of AMR F1. The Hungary upgrades showed that they are turning it around.Sasha wrote: ↑27 Sep 2026, 19:14Aston Martin F1
Why don't you fix your house?
Your house is just an illusion just to look like a good house to cover up the money
Honda
Your leadership failed the Company when they left F1 in a panic.
Honda would be in the RB this year.
Put your heads down put on headphones with great music to ignore the clowns and fix the PU. You been thru this before with Mclaren.
How is Honda having so much reliability issues, did they run the spec 2 on the test bench and the rig with the chassis to iron out these problems. Its very concerning having so many issues on the subpar PU.bigblue wrote: ↑28 Sep 2026, 09:22Stroll went out of the race with a water pressure issue (e.g. see the astonmartinf1.com website).
Alonso had an oil leak in FP2. I think some parts were changed to rectify this rather than the whole engine, though not absolutely 100% sure. Alonso went out of the race saying that he started losing more time than usual on the straight, but Honda say they haven't found any issues with the engine so far.
Water pressure and hydraulics leaks are not necessarily ICE problems. They will prevent a ICE from running but the leaks can be outside the ICE. A few things on a F1 car use hydraulic power and ICE coolant is connected to a radiator.collindsilva wrote: ↑28 Sep 2026, 09:30How is Honda having so much reliability issues, did they run the spec 2 on the test bench and the rig with the chassis to iron out these problems.
