Ferrari F10

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

We know Rossi did 1.21.xx, I can't for the life of me find times for Massa anywhere. This strikes me as rather odd.

Rossi wrote in his official site, "In the end, I put in a good time on soft tyres with just a small load of fuel, and clocked a 1'21'9."
The testing ran from 9am to 5pm.

Maybe there was some evaluation going on, who knows?
I hope you're not suggesting that MS is about to step away to GP2 to leave his ride for the Doctor? :)
How in the world would you conclude that from what Ringo said?

This thread is insane; theres no specific/constant title nor is the discussion entirely about the 2010 car and season. :wtf:

Looks like will be stuck with seeing the photos Ferrari provide on their site. Apparently photographers are not allowed.

Main Entry: propaganda
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: information that is designed to mislead or persuade
Ferrari witheld the Rossi vs Massa times in order to generate buzz, attract attention, and mislead fans into believing Rossi was a suitable prospect for Ferrari.

Obviously the event that will be held tomorrow is closely controlled by Ferrari, and it will be to showcase their new car, and put out more propaganda. Of course, the car presented tomorrow will bear little resemblance to the final product that shows up at Bahrain in March.

I am very interested in viewing this car, and any major changes from last year. Most definitely the wheelbase and diffuser will be on top of my list.

Personally, I really want Ferrari to field a genuine contender, they need to claw their way back and make life hard for the rest. If that is possible, then the season will be very spicy.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

I doubt we'll get shots of the diffuser, if no F1 photographers are allowed, Ferrari will stipulate what their photographers can and cannot photograph so I expect it'll all still be quite sctum.

From wikipedia:

"Propaganda is a form of communication aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position. As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense, presents information primarily to influence an audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus possibly lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses loaded messages to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the attitude toward the subject in the target audience to further a political agenda."

Yuppers, did my own piece of propaganda by displaying only one side of the argument, and my perception of the situation. That was the point I was trying to make, and what better way than to perform some "propaganda"?

Hmm, I noticed you did not use my entire quote, just a certain section....

Anyways, I don't want to get into a pissing contest, your observation was valid. But I do wish this wasn't about me, but instead the topic at hand, you know, the Ferrari. Andartop, although I respect you, I will not engage any further in an exercise where combatants believe they can form a valid argument by picking apart the comments of the opposing viewpoint.

You proved your point.

Thanks.
I never meant to engage you in a pointless chit-chat irrelevant to the subject of this thread, I just thought your post was a bit over the top.
Only reason I quoted just half of it is because the rest of it was clearly enough your opinion about the car, rather than Ferrari's attempts (or not) to control public opinion.
I would call it at best a marketing trick, not any more or less sinister than, say, Mercedes presenting their new colors on last year's Brawn GP car a week or so before the scheduled presentation of their own new car..
Nothing personal there.

No wonder -- there's thousands (probably millions) trying to get to that page all around the world.
