I find it very risky for tracks which have similarly high speeds in the corners and on straights. They may be able to get away with it in china if it is tuned for a speed not experienced in the turns. However i think they will remove it for other tracks.
It was shown in the fduct thread that it can work on an open loop, so i think this is what they are bringing. They may mount their snorkels on the side pods where the cooling vents usually are.

Well if they could, but it would be in breach of the regulations. They don't have the luxury of having a pipe in the cockpit like the Mclaren. They can't change the tub so they are stuck with having to run their system outside of the tub, hence no posibility of interaction with the driver. The driver is the loop hole, any other control system would be moving aero and illegal.
I see them with this thing on the wing though, it looks like an arch that connects the 2 wing elements together; don't know what it's for though. It was on Micheal's car.
