On pictures there one primary shaft, secondary and pinions.
Race gearbox allow changing pinions but there musb be some mechanism that keep all dimentions between rotating parts..
In some small formula cars you can see system like in pictures.

So questions are What mechanisms F1 use?
What are dimentions of rings, pinions, shafts, e.t.c?
Does anybody know some sites withs photo of F1 gearboxes and gears ratios of Pinions and crown pinion.
What type of "gearing" thay use? What kind of limitations has each type of gearing and mechanisms of shaft
