About GearBox's parts.

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Hi all!
On pictures there one primary shaft, secondary and pinions.

Race gearbox allow changing pinions but there musb be some mechanism that keep all dimentions between rotating parts..

In some small formula cars you can see system like in pictures.

So questions are What mechanisms F1 use?
What are dimentions of rings, pinions, shafts, e.t.c?

Does anybody know some sites withs photo of F1 gearboxes and gears ratios of Pinions and crown pinion.
What type of "gearing" thay use? What kind of limitations has each type of gearing and mechanisms of shaft

Thanks a lot.

thanks for your effort, mechanical part of F1 engines have great importance kuz pilots have dfferent way of driving hard to soft ..
run fast run strong

and the drivers driving style of course effects the ammount of pressure on the pieces, as the engine power and stress on the components depends on the driver. everyone knows how much the braking points and throttle points very from driver to driver. some drive full throttle(hard style) as others prefer to drive at part throttle(soft style). its amazing guys

That looks very much like the workings of a motorcycle sequential gearbox, the orange coloured drum rotates and moves the selector fork to engage the right gear.

Very good pictures))

But could you explain the way and parts which help to change gears on shafts.

Could you know mass and stress characteristics of pinions, numbers of pinions in crownpinion?

What's the order of gears oh shaft? In pictures you can see (rewerse-1-2-3-4-5-6-7) order. Is it real?
