Red Bull RB6

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

KERS has to be fitted between the engine and driver by way of regulations, so the bulk will end up around the center of the car rather than the rear.

This car is now legend. 8)
Both championships cements the RB6 in the same leagues as the Williams FW14 and the superior Mclarens of the late 80's.

It's nowhere near results-wise.
Only qualifying results are on par with those cars.

Even so I can only come up with 3 cars with a better score than the RB6. Two of these happens to be of Newey design. Only two cars have outscored the RB6 in qualifying: the MP4/4 and the FW14B.
Off the top of my head I can't remember if any of the Brabham (I guess the fan car would've been) or Lotus designs was up there, but I don't think so.

need to consider that the technical regulations in the past are not as strict as what we have today.

Not yet. If Renault pull their fingers out over the engine and drivetrain then maybe with the RB7.

Amazingly narrow rear end, pull-rods, brilliant!
Good call. Lol

The design of the RB5 and RB6 are the only reason I became a fan of this team. Luckily they also happened to have a, erm, exciting Aussie and a proto-Schumacher as their drivers the past 2 years.

Cheers Newey, here's to next year.

I never noticed the Renault emblem on the nose of the car.

Since Japan or Korea, Renault decided to get a closer relationship to Red Bull as Red Bull were really likely to win championships. Since then they started to put more Renault decals. On the drivers' visors too.

It's probably more to do with Renault becoming an engine supplier.
