Amazing time, hope it was a legal lap. Was it on soft or super soft tyres?

They are indeed, but their positioning just in front of the suspension is interesting...

Let's not be too overoptimistic here... The track has rubbered in quite a lot since yesterday.

The positive point is that I doubt this was set on the supersofts as these tires won't be there for the first few GPs.

With Pirelli, there is no rubber-in process as blutant as with Bridgestone. Rubber is marbled all over the place out the racing line. So, Michael's time is nothing but encouraging.

I am quite relieved by seeing this time from Mgp, but it is a bit sad that nowadays all you need is a flexi-wing to boost your laptime.

The shocking part of this time is, that if MercedesGP can run 1.21,2 than Red Bull can run 1.20,2
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Imo this Car is still about to change...but I like what i see. Would have been a miracle if Mercedes was unable to build a good car.

I highly doubt they could have carbon fibre that flexible over sucha short distance.

All the flex wings bend along their span to allow the wing end plates to close the gap to the road increasing the ground effect
Actually the RB one also bends along the length of the car. The front of the wing goes down, the back goes up.

I think these pylons are designed to flex the wing back...

This must be how Red Bull pass the deflection test, the wing flexes when pushed from the front, the test is done by pushing from above...

I think it's one of the ways, although it does flex transversely too.

I read that Perez posted his 1.21,7 on supersofts yesterday (he did a 1.22,1 with softs). So supersofts are available I guess.

No Adamski all tyers are available for the test. See the statements from yesterday:

James Key said:
"He [Perez] did a good and controlled set of laps, setting a time of 1:22.042 minutes on soft tyres and 1:21.761 on the super soft compound."

And from Renault:
"For the afternoon with Nick, we concentrated on set-up work and ran the medium and soft tyres."
