HRT F111 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Not sure what the upgrades will include, small upgrades including something on the rear wing.

I would prefer a smarter engine cover.

One thing I did notice at the last GP is that Red Bull have a one piece engine cover and sidepod area.

Everything on the Redbull is smarter, its like the car is possessed or something. Maybe all the new teams should just copy the Redbull. Team Lotus are planing a blown diffuser for the Spanish Grand Prix. All I want is for HRT to catch and possibly beat Lotus it would be nice. Even though this team is having a real hard time I really do hope they survive and do well.

I can't remember what site it was on, but I read a quote from Colin Kolles where he stated that Tonio had sustained damage to the rear wing so they stopped him as a precaution (implying they were worried that the wing might fail).
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

"We pitted the car twice to check the problem and found out that there was a damage on the rear wing so we decided to stop just for safety reasons.

They got an ex Honda design guy and obviously it shows in their 2011 design. To be three years back is not really an issue for them..Gosh ,last years lotus was almost 10 years old when new..
It took Toyota ages to climb up the order on unlimited budget..and they had good designers ...
The jordan -Midland-Spiker-Force India saga is telling a story there and tell you what Kolles was the driving force in the upturn of that outfit .He knows how he did it and what is needed. There is capable current F1 engineering hr in this team and the rest is available, funds permitting. They will rise up no question if the funds come in...They are reworking the dallara.. Nick Wirth has to thank god they had not even enough money to build the front wing last year already...

That doesn't really look like damage to me... More like a strange version of the anti-drag gills that the cars have now-a-days. I don't think that it could be that though.... Maybe the 'Damage' was something to do with the DRS sticking slightly open? That would cause lots of instability and could be called damage...

This is what they said of HRT's web fans page.

F1 fan Web hispania
“Liuzzi was complaining about lack of grip and excessive wear on the back of the F111 just where hispania China plans improvement”

“Liuzzi were problems in the structure of mobile wing, a bolt snapped and Hispania is putting solutions to this problem”

But both pictures are taken in the same race.

Mobile wimg = DRS? If so, I'm amazed at my own powers of guessing :D

Yes every one on here said there was bound to be reliability issues with the F111 in the next few races, this was probably the most likely fault. Hopefully the car will be reliable enough in China to see the cars true pace. Timo Glock seems to be worried that HRT may catch or even over take the MVR02 in pace. I hope he is right!

so it´s a weight saving/lowering of CoG programme...they do progress obviously- less paint less shark fin...every little bit counts.. Is this upgrade worth 5 tenths ?

The only difference I have spotted is the lack of smal shark fin (and different paintjob).
