HRT F111 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

ESP,

Hispania are quite confident for Turkey, do we know what upgrades they are bringing to the race?

Hispania will always be a team that will struggle with sponsorship untill they get a decent technichal base and a decent staff and facilities, even if they have hand-me-downs from Williams in terms of gearbox, its a base they can build on, and many team in the past have done worse with better. I think Hispania, this year are gonna be showing their worth and the fact they deserve to be on the grid, no matter what some of the larger teams say.[/quote]

This year they managed to hack together a car that is mostly last years car. They will need some real technical direction to get KERS, because next year, everyone will have it, and the 107% rule could burn them again.

Well -RBR and WGP have clearly shown the way how not to tackle the theme KERS -big team or not this is clearly manufacturer playground .
Kolles surely is fully aware of this and has made the right decision not to even think about it.this is part of the negotiations for 2012 or even beyond.

F111 maybe a rewrked F110 Dallara and should have really happened already last year but to be 1 year behind schedule is not a big problem for a minnow in F1.
They learn as they go along and only securing the finance will enable them to make the jump to apotential Q2 contender and whatever the Virgin boys tell it´s the same for these. You cannot build speed on a shoestring.

Kolles sounds pretty confident that they will be faster than the Virgins in Turkey. Ofcourse Virgin will be also bringing new parts to the car, so it will be intresting to see which car ends up being faster.

I think the decision to buy Williams transmissions suggests they may also buy their KERS next year.
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

They've just got a battery-making sponsor (base) who isn't paying them money, but instead is developing KERS for them. At least that's what the grape vine says.

Looks like they're testing all kinds of things - those turning veins are back to the old spec ones.

Edit: actually scratch that – they too have a slot in them, just not in the same place as the above pic shows – must be turning many different turning veins.

There is also a new small box installed on the nose. What could be the function of that? Maybe some kind of sensor?

Almost certainly the areal for pit communication/telemetry. Not sure why it might become longer – maybe they had reception problems – maybe it's a better aero shape.

I think that they're the same vanes, but from different sides- look at where the slot is compared to the Japanese flag.

Hah, good point – the tilt on the first photo made me think it was wrong.
