It was a beautiful race due to a beautiful track.

Ringo - the issue at hand is not whether or not Seb should have let Mark past. Once the lap times were slower then of course he should have let Webber past. Plain and simple. But the issue at hand is whether or not the gearbox issue was real - or was it manufactured

I must preface my answer with the fact that I do support Vettel and there is some bias in me. However, I don't think I'm alone in saying that I honestly think it was manufactured.

@Giblet - we're not saying it was wrong, we're saying it was fake. Team orders remember are now legal.

A gearbox issue is not such a big deal, they happen, and until there is evidence of wrong doing, there is little point on making stuff up.

Yes but we should remember that Seb's would probably be a new gearbox - his retirement in Abu Dhabi would have meant they could fit a new gearbox on for this race.

If it was indeed a conspiracy - Vettel would probably know, and he understood that this was his "Mark is faster than you" moment. And he confirmed that he understood the message.

Vettel will not complain because -as you told earlier- he always gets 90% of the team's interest. He is world champion. No reason to go contrary to this team.

Any way, we saw today that when Redbull put their support behind mark; in terms of pitstop quality and radio feedback, he's just as fast as vettel, and he can really make the redbull run like it's supposed to.
It's only when the team give vettel 90% of the attention does Mark underperform in his RB7.
This treatment could explain the discrepancy between both cars this season. Vettel's car always seems to have that little extra this season.

I don't see Vettel getting upset at all...in the post race interview he mentioned it would be over the top to get upset at this stage of the season but no doubt he will look for answers in order to understand what happened and what caused the failure. He'll want to do that in order to know if there is anything at all he can do in his capacity to try and prevent it happening again....

I'm sorry but how is one not entitled to say that was boring. Simply put, the best car by a mile took off at the start and they were never troubled by others (as if it had never happened before lol). Sure, there was some action here and there but that's it really. Not exciting enough.

it was an issue that they've had a few times that year. Mark wasn't braking hard enough - and that was hurting the oil use.

That is not how logic operates, but don't let that stop you from making assumptions based on nothing but rather uncoded sounding radio messages.

If it was faked, why keep addressing him on the radio over and over. 2nd would have been a good enough reason, yet as the race went on he kept getting told to shortshift more and more gears.

Everything points to a transmission problem at this point, and only random assumptions based on (?) are heard here.

We are not discussing if Webber can beat Vettel, but if the gearbox problem was fake. Ferrari should ask for an investigation, since Alonso lost 3rd place in championship. And i cannot understand why Ferrari is always acting immoral when they apply team orders and in the case of RedBull, it's just a conspiracy theory..

Actually this is exactly how logic operates.
Someone is collecting "material" leading to a possible scenario and then they find out whether it's true or not through investigation.

I'm not saying that the gearbox problem was manufactured. However I do think that Vettel should have been able to decide (with the information he got from the team) if he wanted to use caution or just go for it. He had nothing to lose; only Webber did. At any rate Congrat's to Red Bull for a dominating season, Vettel for romping all over the field and Webber for taking that car and crushing the 5th fastest car by one point, for third place in the WDC
