nothing's a good example from practice. A car could be running 0 ballast and do a whole 20-lap stint underweight. Or it could be doing 2 laps of full tanks on hard tyres.

Ray that was a two flying lap stint so as much as I fear Red Bull are toying with the rest of the field. THAT is not a good example of it.
Or maybe Vettel is collecting a "gem" and look good in the statistics :)

Are you calling me a dog, or do you mean "dawg?" They mean very different things.

The wow was for the fact that any lap worth a 1:23 is quite good, compared to pole 2011. Give 8 tenths because of the fact it was on hard tyres; and also the very cold track temps

We haven't seen too much of anything from Red Bull to get an accurate picture. Yes, the two lap stint was meaningless.

I sincerely hope Red Bull are not being cocky for their own sakes.

I think what he meant to say is that the track probably hasn't been completely rubbered in yet. ;)

Autosport is reporting 10 degrees C, 50 F. As is weather.com. Where are you getting 24?

Bro I'm from the land where that expression came from. Don't be silly with the spelling propriety. No I wasn't insulting you. The rest of your post is just a bad excuse. It's ok to be excited about it, but we all know that we don't know squat on a squat stick as to the value of it. That's all. I'm glad it made you happy slick!

15:07 The track temperature is dropping as the day draws in. It was 31 degrees a few hours ago, but is now 24 degrees. Still better than this morning's 0.5 degrees.

English isn't even my first; second; third nor even fourth or fifth language. Not even 1% of my countrymen speak the language. So when I speak it or hear/read other people's use of it I need to make pretty damn sure I'm understanding it correct. Just because dawg sounds like dog and an assumption of "surely you would have no malicious intent" suggests you meant dawg; it doesn't mean you said dawg.

And FYI; I actually meant that post. a 1:23 from any car; taking maybe 1.5-2 off for the blown diffuser; is quite a feat.

@JET - for track, I don't think 24/23 degrees is very high - it's quite low.

Im actually looking at it that way... RedBull are in front, they are making fast times on those short stints because they are on low fuel and they are making qualifying runs... remember that these cars are an evolution of the 2011 cars, they just need to dial those things in and understand a bit of the new tires compound... Of course its my opinion but those fast laps are genuine (spelled right?) they dont need to fool no one... McLaren are there a few tenths off in qualifying performance, I think today they still getting to grips with the tires... Ferrari have a good concept but its already in third place. IMO
