Shelly have you seen this article about having a laser in the wind tunnel to see exhaust gas? --> http://www.omnicorse.it/magazine/17825/ ... -del-ventoshelly wrote:gazzetta says "capo aerodinamico" - they seem to have fallen in the same misunderstanding as omnicorse (maybe the same person gave the hint to the two journalists while attending the fiorano event).
Usually you have head of aero, to whom head of cfd and head of wt report. Under head of wt you have several team leaders, who manage small groups of junior and senior aerodynamicists. So head of aero and team leader are two very differnt roles. Sometimes in hierarchy between head of wt and team leaders there are group leaders (es front, right).
To see who is head of aero at mclaren now, check mylink above. To check the other role, try googling "aero team leader mclaren" or "aero team leader *team*" to see multiple answers. Or check the always good Peter Wright book on ferrari to get a 2000 scheme of hierarchy, which is old but some how representative.
Omnicorse and gazzetta often have good hints and info, but do not make the little internet effort needed to get them right and give correct news.

Of course, that's a manufacturor centric view; personally, I'd prefer to see Ferrari vs. BMW vs. Mercedes vs. Honda vs. Toyota vs. Maserati, but others would rather see Williams vs. Brabham vs. Sauber vs. March vs. that Lord with the race team (whatever they were called). I think the former is more sustainable, however.
Yeah I know PIV isn't all that new, but my point was it's new for Ferrari which is who they suggest are now using it. Maybe Maranello was upgraded.shelly wrote:On the internet you can find also this:
At Crucial: laser in f1 wind tunnels is old news: see the article by Iaccarino posted in this forum multiple times, and the articles on piv at toyota in germany.
Another exmaple of omnicorse not making the next step.
This is why you have to be careful where you get info from mate. Have a look at the question & answer from today's press conferenceChuckjr wrote:Why is Alonso saying his car in Spain will not be much different than before?!!? WHAT?? That's completely opposite to every report leading to this race! WTF?

Q: (Livio Oricchio – O Estado de Sao Paulo) Fernando, you have a very different car from this race. Let’s suppose this car does not correspondent to that criteria…
FA: We’ll see, we’ll see after the race, because we don’t know what car we have. Obviously we have new parts, but everybody has new parts. Because it’s Ferrari, there are quite a lot of expectations every race we go to. It seems like only Ferrari is bringing new parts. We have a step forward, we believe, on what we had in Bahrain, but we also know that it’s not the last step we have to do. It’s a continuous work, that we need to start here in Barcelona, making a step forward and try to improve our qualifying position and our race pace, but in Monaco we have to bring new parts. In Canada (we have to) bring new parts. So we will not bring a new car to every race as it seems that we brought here in Barcelona.
He clearly says they're bringing many parts as it seems like they're bringing a new car to Barcelona.

Perhaps even a pair or two of shining bright-red-anodized Aluminium push-rod looking parts?Crucial_Xtreme wrote: ...
