Piquet Jnr in "need to say something so the world remembers me" shocker
what is this idiot doing these days anyway? not that i care, he's a terrible racing driver
The biggest advantages he had were his talent and determination. His interest in technical side was a consequence of that, not the other way around.mike wrote: Senna at his time certainly has a better advantage in his technical knowledge, it he was born in 1985 I'm sure he could have been Adrian Newey.
Maybe he would not dominate the grid like he had back then, but that is because he was the guy who sat the bar so high. I have no slightest doubt he would be recognized as great driver had he made his debut now. After all, he was the guy who could beat the full time race driver's time on his test debut.mike wrote: In a way I agree its more difficult to dominate in F1 today, but I still think Senna will be special no matter what era he was in.
I have read about Senna -thatr one of the reasons Honda was so in favour of him -because he was so much into the development..and dragged the engineers to supply the hardware so he could do his thing. One example was his pedantic work with throttle linkages ,he spent days on these to optimise the throttle response and even had different linkages developped for different tracks and weather conditions. Honda took a lot of information out of this in their development of a traction control.AlpineF1 wrote:There isn't any truth in it though... nobody can know how much Senna knew about the mechanical side of it all
IN the rain...you know...the great equalizer give me a break...Senna was a great driver but this fanboy love is sickening.AlpineF1 wrote:Senna didn't need a top notch car to win remember Monaco 1984? that Toleman would be like force India in today's world...
Still, pretty tough of Piquet Jr. to say that about someone who is dead.strad wrote:IN the rain...you know...the great equalizer give me a break...Senna was a great driver but this fanboy love is sickening.AlpineF1 wrote:Senna didn't need a top notch car to win remember Monaco 1984? that Toleman would be like force India in today's world...
Ok so what about Monaco 1992, Donington 1993, Brazil 1991 its not a "fanboy love",your not telling me that race was a fluke are you?strad wrote:IN the rain...you know...the great equalizer give me a break...Senna was a great driver but this fanboy love is sickening.AlpineF1 wrote:Senna didn't need a top notch car to win remember Monaco 1984? that Toleman would be like force India in today's world...
Fer sure but some people seem to wear their heart on their sleeve..The world did not start and stop with this very flawed person. Whilst very talented Senna brought something to the sport which was not altogether desirable to many of us.wesley123 wrote:Still, pretty tough of Piquet Jr. to say that about someone who is dead.strad wrote:IN the rain...you know...the great equalizer give me a break...Senna was a great driver but this fanboy love is sickening.AlpineF1 wrote:Senna didn't need a top notch car to win remember Monaco 1984? that Toleman would be like force India in today's world...

I Think he put up a decent showing against Alonso. If he had stuck with the team, he would have grown into a very good driver IMO.waynes wrote:Piquet Jnr in "need to say something so the world remembers me" shocker
