Vettel to Ferrari ?

Post

Hi (sorry if this topic should be or already is somewhere else)

I have just been reading that Di Montezemolo has said Perez needs more experience to join Ferrari, and Di Montezemolo would like Vettel in his car.

What isnt clear is , does he mean next year ? or just in the future?

If he means 2014 then Ferrari will be needing someone to join for 1 year. That to me sounds like Massa again. Or if Lewis goes to Mercedes, maybe Michael can fill in for 1 year.

What do you guys think ?

Re: Vettel to Ferrari ?

There were whispers in the paddock early this season that Vettel had signed an agreement with Ferrari - an option callable by Ferrari, should they meet performance targets (WCC standings, race victories based I guess - basically just to make sure that Ferrari is competitive) in 2013 that Vettel will be their man for 2014.

It is interesting that Monty was asked about Perez and instead denied Perez, but mentioned Vettel, in the context of Michael and Bennetton - which, I don't have to remind people - is just before Michael joined Ferrari.

Here's the quote (I quoted this off an article, so don't blame me for the Google translator feel to the wording. Or it could be his English! )
I think that Vettel is more or less in the condition like when Michael was in Benetton. He's young, he's a very good driver and he's making a very good experience. So this could be, of course in the theory, but if you have to ask me a name I have to tell you this name

I fail to see how a Chinese Multi-National Sponsor can be claimed as Schumacher's own.

They teamed up with him, because he is Mr Schumacher.

Do a quick google search of Erlinyou and you'll find countless sources directing you to exactly that.

If that wasn't enough:

"As the most recognizable and accomplished driver of our time, we are enthusiastic that his influence and expertise will allow us to offer the finest and most technically advanced GPS product on the market today."

MS's words of he being valuable to sponsors, clearly holds substance in an abundance.

Would he even be eligible for a superlicense these days? wait..Schumacher was away for a lot longer...so it should not be a problem.
I don't expect to ever see Kubica in an F1 car again, sadly.
im going to say this, and ill be glad to read it in the future. If i could win the lottery today, i would put all my money to bet on Kubica: He will make an epic comeback and become Formula One Champion.
I'd love to see that. But from what i've seen/read in the last week i think he is a long way from driving an F1 car again let alone competing.

According to someone who speaks fluent Italian:

" I don't believe that Hamilton will move from McLaren, cartainly not next year. We hold Schumacher closely to us. He is with us presently and soon we shall renew him for next year's championship."

You realise "final nail in the coffin" means that the end is a sure thing, right? As opposed to a definite decision being made. lol.

What? The phrase means to 'finalize' something.

IIRC Merc allows Shumi personal sponsors. Is the new sponsor signed with Merc or Shumi? I'm suspecting by the quotes, they signed Shumi, but with a little money for the team as well. Shumi has a much better image than his unfortunate choice of comeback vehicle.

As I said ,Schumacher is already a brand and worth a lot of money -no matter which car he is driving or if he is driving at all.

The only guy even remotely coming close maybe NikiLauda who could sell his red cap (which had turned blue for a while) all and EVERY year since his retirement in 1984 ..that´s a staggering 28Years! and as I understand the cap goes for 1mill€ annually...

back to Schumacher-he is not retireing ,thank god.
But surely every team willing to sign him will if doing so have a huge leverage on finding potent sponsorship + Mr.Schumacher will not really need any payment from the team itself.(MGP Daimler will be charged the discount price of 7mill€ nevertheless, Mr.Brawn paying?)

The deal is exclusively with Schumacher, however, because of the fact he is drives for MGP, it raises the profile of Mercedes.

Any team that Schumacher were to hypothetically sign for, would gain huge leverage in sponsorship for sure (if you go along the lines of what his new sponsor stated, it's pretty apparent he's a valuable marketing asset).

7 Million is probably peanuts compared to what he brings to the table.
