Someday we will know all the rubbish around MGP, and more than one will be surprised/shocked.

Schumacher is the most commited driver I have ever seen so there must be some serious reasons, and his driving ability with 43 years is not one of them.

What an emotional post, spoken like a true fan. Just for perspective:

2010 WDC
7. Rosberg 142 pts.
9. Schumacher 72 pts.

2011 WDC
7. Rosberg 89 pts.
8. Schumacher 76 pts.

2012 WDC
7. Rosberg 93 pts.
12. Schumacher 43 pts.

And that is just points, over the last three seasons he has made some pretty rookie mistakes and some desperately questionable moves.

For anybody not irrationally biased it has been clear that Schumacher today is not the same he was 8 years ago. I applaud him for coming out of retirement with little to gain and everything to lose, but you'd have to be pretty blindsighted not see the obvious.

It's time to quit. Even if Sauber wants him, he should just accept the inevitable and look forward to the next chapter.

Oh ok, so lets not take into account the dominance over his team mate since mid 2011 and lets not take into account DNFs due to the team (starting mid 2011), lets take a myopic view of the facts to suit your assertion so no one can claim you make no sense and are delusional if you think he's not as fast if not faster than Nico since mid 2011?
Gotcha!

Andrew Benson is convinced Schumacher isn't going to Ferrari. He said on twitter he spoke to a senior source at Ferrari who rubbished the idea. But in the silly season what does that really mean? I cannot believe Schumacher hasn't at least made a few phone calls to his old team.
There are several renown Schu haters and Benson is one of them. Must be wetting his pants in excitement.

benson is hard to stick when you like michael - he goes out of his way to portray msc as negatively as possible

hope he is wrong, but do we assume eddie jordan knows msc wont be joining or something

i do not think i have ever been so impatient about anything in my life :x

i cant wait to find out either.

schumy is definitly up too something. i personally had thought along the lines of he was going too buy into sauber and build them up possibly with the thinking Mick is getting older and will probably be looking into f1 in the future maybe msc and corinna have been hatching some plans.

how long would it take michael too build a really strong team in sauber getting his old enginering buddies on board. it could come good.

Gotcha!
Agreed mate +100, I just laugh on how much educated some people are on this site. Very accurate with the comparisons and they talk facts. Probably they just miss to count the DNFs or probably they do it on purpose. Either way its hilarious how much nonsense they write!

My wife brought up something I hadn't thought of,,,probably cause my mind doesn't work like that but...
Did Lewis move to Mercedes in part at least, to push Michael out?
Kind of a powerplay of sorts,,to push the old man out. Not necessarily the main reason but but part of the reason.
What do you think?

Consider that Peter Sauber only came out of retirement to save his team after it was unceremoniously dropped by BMW. SO what if Schumacher plans to race for Sauber with a view to buy the team. He would likely bring in VAG as an engine supplier. He is a strong enough brand to attract the right sponsors and get the backing to secure the teams future...
He won't be inheriting the pig sty Prost did when he agreed to take over Ligier....

Just think of what would have happened to MGP with a Rosberg/Heidfeld driver pairing...No question Heidfeld would have been shown the door already and we´d see Hulk ,di Resta or Sutil now in the second Merc -but would MGP still exist?

Rosberg is like any other german F1 driver -apart from Vettel -invisible /unknown in Germany so one has to conclude Michael saved MGP from early extinction somehow.

Hamilton and Schumacher as a combo is a make or break thing-the world will not question the speed of Hamilton ,he is undoubtedly and well proven the pinnacle of speed even with dodgy cars .So if Hamsy does fail to deliver ,MGP is done.
Retaining Schumacher really does make sense in the light of this .

My personal view is Schumacher is questioning the ability of MGP to turn the corner quick enough for him .He has exceeded his personal scheduling when commiting to a 2013 and 2014 season and he will not dwell on forever...he stated in his career review interview on RTL that he actually was surprised by the speed he still had when testing the Ferrari and had questioned beforehand a competitive comeback was possible considering his age.
So ,to me he has realised it took him longer to really get back to the sharpness requered but he finally has ticked off that and one can say he is now really performing on top level these days (Hungary discounting)So next year he needs a quick and reliable car +a reliable topnotch team as well.At this time NONE of these boxes are ticked...right?

Look to Sauber -Top car for two years in a row -gutsy top notch teamwork -reliability was always a saubber trademark- moneys do not count high on the priority list for him - but he would undoubtedly attract not only sponsors but technical partners as well to sauber- and one should not forget that it was Peter Sauber who did most of the good things helping Schumis career (even if it was for Mercedes back then) ..
I love the idea of Audi/Volkswagen unable to resist the prospect of marketing Schumacher in a SauberAudi ... or Porsche in 2014....

Maybe he knew that Monaco is a special track and that the car will be again slow when they come to other tracks?
And he was right with that...

Ah well the difference between your link to Sauber and my link to Sauber is that I propose he could buy the team from Sauber, and bring in the same engine manufacturer. I'd not seen your post so I give you this one Marc.

I am starting to think it is highly plausible.
