Let's see if Hamilton can give him a good run for his money today in quali. With the advantage he's enjoying right now, the only way to prevent Vettel from winning would definitely be to stay ahead of him the first 2-3 laps.

I don't think the RB8 is necessarily the fastest car out there, but rather it is best suited for the GP's at the end of the season. That being said, I think the WDC is out of Alonso's hands after today's qualifying session, and it is now Vettel's to lose.

With Vettel down in P3, Red Bull will probably push Webber to focus on either passing Hamilton or - more likely - get a good enough start to put pressure on Hamilton so that the Mclaren doesn't use the Sector 1 advantage to get too far away from the Red Bulls, who are better on the softs (though based on quali, I would have to add "supposedly"). It will be an important first turn on Sunday.

Vettel couldnt made it to pits today after quali. Maybe same scenario for him tommorow like it was for Hamilton?

Just found this : "Sebastian Vettel will start from the back of the grid for Sunday's Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi for insufficient fuel."
WDC just became so more interesting :D

Vettel is due for a technical failure or some other DNF. I must have had a vision when I typed this. Alonso is one lucky man. If they cannot make the car fast enough he can count on Red Bull messing up as a team. I reckon that Alonso is good for P3 or P4. If Vettel is lucky in the race he will be able to get up to P7 or P8. He might just keep a very small points advantage. Perhaps Alonso could even overtake him slightly in the points and open a small gap.

I'm very glad I didn't put money down on this.

Something somewhat relevant: Vettel has never won more than 3 in a row in a season until this season. Even last year with his dominance, it was at most 3 (granted, he did win 3x in a row, twice). The only other string of victories would be from Bra/Abu to Aus/Mal from 2010 to 2011, if you count them as in a row.

At some point your luck runs out and someone fudges the numbers.

That is less something to count on and more something to pray for. Red Bull have shown to be a solid TEAM that is less prone to mistakes than others. In this case, though, it seems someone forgot to carry the 1 in their math. And I do mean that quite literally.

What Vettel needs now, then, is that suggestion of Webber crashing out the pit-tunnel in front of Alonso! Crashgate 2012?!?!?

That - would make an absolutely shocking championship decider.
