Barcelona 2010. Massa had locked his rears under braking for 13, and he slid into Karthikeyan. The left cascade, and the endplate holding it crooked inwards (if you remember, The 2010 Ferrari had multiple-part FWEPs). Pylon wasn't visibly damaged though.Kiril Varbanov wrote:I recall the message from Smedley to Massa: "OK, half a second faster with a broken front wing, stay out." I think it was Barcelona 2011, but cannot find video footage. AFAIR the wing wasn't that much damaged, it was like broken endplate or some of the horizontal flaps, but not the whole pylon.nacho wrote:Does anyone remember someone doing many laps flatout with that kind of wing damage?
I remember some with wing parts missing but not with only one pylon.
Smilar damage was done on lap 1 in melbourne 2010 to schumacher, one pylon failed and the wing dragged along the ground. He boxed at the end of the lap - though the safety car helped their decision.
