I think that was Montoya, and he actually did lose his drivers licence in France for two months, but since he's travelling all over the world, that wasn't any problem for him ;)

hehe! ralf in a BMW 7, I find that no car for him
I found that using iDrive was one of the worst things ever in a motor vehicle. Took me forever to adjust the seats... so complicated compared to conventional means.

Just remembered Olivier Panis in 1996 in an interview for Eurosport he said that his wife drove him every where cause he didn't like to drive on the road (don't know if he still feels this way).

Jarno Trulli in 1998 said the same thing in an interview for F1 Racing (magazine), but in his case his father drove him to some places....

But I've seen Jarno drive around in Monaco, don't remember the car!

I can understand the SUV(even if its that ugly ass benz)... being stuck in that tiny ass cockpit, sometimes you just want some space to let your balls hang. I definatly cant drive my RX-7 every day, too cramped.

Jenson Button drives a Civic Hybrid most of the time. (according to him) but he also owns a Honda S600, and a Honda NSX.

Fangio drove a two seater benz automatic.
He said shifting was like work.

... and Il Mantovano Volante ran a succession of big Matfords (French-built Fords) - he was a good friend of Monsieur Mathé, who ran the company. As a good AU man, Rosemeyer favoured Horches, as did Hans Stuck and HP Müller. Lang, Hartmann and Caracciola - inevitably - drove Mercedes Benz, Giuseppe Farina (in 1939 anyway) a Lancia Aprilia, Dreyfus (again in 1939) a Fiat convertible. The Schell family - who might have been expected to run a Delahaye or Delage - actually favoured a big American Graham.

this reminded me of a series f1.com ran a couple years ago called "the lesser known." some drivers were asked 'what is in your garage at home'

webber: rats & hay for the donkeys
kimi: enzo
massa: 2 maserati quattroportes & a ferrari 599
alonso: mcmerc slr 722 (which he probably set on fire then pushed into lake geneva)
lewis: aforementioned mercedes diesel SUV
rosberg: audi rs4
liuzzi: maserati gran sport & audi a3
jenson: s2000
rubens: civic hybrid
jarno: lexus rx400 hyrbid suv
MS: enzo fxx
heidfeld: bmw x5 suv, mini cooper s, lotus exige, 1967 beetle cabriolet, 5series
doornbos: bmw m3

these two deserve their own section

wurz: 1934 ford (my personal favorite hot-rod), 1972 dodge charger, 1952 mercury
montagny: 1967 shelby gt500

glad to see a couple f1 drivers have a taste for american muscle

How can´t you have those three if you can

If you could combine American Muscle, Japan revs, English handling, Italian design and German presicion...
