Perhaps they can create and market a new cocktail - The Kimster - half Red Bull and half vodka with a twist of sour grapes!

I reckon Raikkonen to Red Bull (he can't really go 'backwards' to mclaren or especially Ferarri), but I reckon that diResta will replace Massa. And then he'll get annihilated by Alonso

I think Hulkenberg will be the next person to move to a top team and not Di Resta.

Still could fit. Lotus will be short of a lead driver.

I think that Vettel will not throw the toys as you said, at least I expect him to show a lot more dignity than Alonso in 2007. Vettel has nicely matured over the last three years and IMO he does not deserve the permanent negative judgement that I seem to read in every single post that you do on him. Perhaps a slightly more balanced opinion would also be more convincing.
I agree. However, the situation with Alonso and Hamilton in 07 was very different - Alonso was expected to be the fastest of the two as no one expected Hamilton to be immediately up to his full F1 potential so quickly and to be so close/equal to Alonso in raw pace. The fact that Hamilton was British (and thus brought with him the largest media following) and that he felt the British team was favouring him as the season progressed acted as catalysts to the inevitable falling out.

Raikkonen is a well established top-tier driver and World Champion whom Vettel would not be expected to easily beat at all. There would be no "shame" for either driver if they were fairly even on pace (and I wouldn't expect one to outright dominate the other) so I wouldn't expect any falling out between the two like what occurred between Alonso and McLaren and Hamilton. Would the team favour Vettel in a close fight between their two drivers, as they supposedly did in 2010? It's debatable, but if they are pursuing Raikkonen for Webber's seat, they want him because he can win races and championships, not for him to support Vettel's title runs. You wouldn't buy a Ferrari for driving your kids to school, would you?

And if Vettel wouldn't play second fiddle, what of it? Did Webber play that role convincingly anyway? What top driver is going to embrace a second fiddle role? Would the STR drivers do so? Maybe if you put it in their contracts. But unless the driver is outright signed on as a clear number 2, or the driver is clinging to his race seat and will do anything to keep the team happy, no good driver would be willing to play second fiddle in a championship-calibre team.

Of course not. That's a job for the Aston Martin

I actually want Riccardo, he is improving all the time if we look at some of his qualifying performances this year. I think he has more potential that Verne, and more upside to challenge Vettel than Kimi (who is getting on a bit)

He already did and then Sauber started being beaten by Force India! Ha! :D

Maybe, though. They kind of both deserve a good car.

Anyone still doubting Dan is in the box seat to replace Webber?

Following changes to the conditions of this week’s Silverstone Young Driver Test set for 17-19 July, we would like to announce an amended driver line up.

Red Bull Junior Team driver António Félix da Costa will drive in the morning on Day 1 and Day 2 (17 and 18 July)*, while Carlos Sainz Junior will take over for the final morning, Day 3 (19 July).

For the permitted tyre testing, Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo will drive in the afternoon of Day 1, Mark Webber will drive in the afternoon of Day 2 and Sebastian Vettel will drive in the afternoon of Day 3.

*Antonio’s test with Infiniti Red Bull Racing fulfils the team’s commitment to grant the mid-season leader of the World Series by Renault a full day’s test in the RB9.

I still do.

This development shows that Ricciardo is ahead of Vergne in terms of "next in line" for the seat - which I have to admit I did not expect.

However, it does not show that Ricciardo is ahead of Kimi in the Webber stakes.

I meant between JEV and RIC - Kimi is the Dark Horse for sure.

Well it now seems it´s quite certain it´s either Ricciardo or Raikkonen.
My money is on Ricciardo,
Asked if it is now a two-horse race between the Finn, who currently drives for Lotus, and Ricciardo, Horner admitted: “Essentially, probably.”

Unless Vergne starts lapping the front runners i think his chance is now gone.
