Mercedes AMG F1 W04

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Old main plane but new higher nose.

Probably because its lower downforce to help balance with the low drag rear wing.

I think he is just referring to the nose debuted in Germany.

High nose, old plane.
Turbo got it - its not a new nose (not new for this race anyways) they've used it in the last few races

Why do you think they have gone for the old front wing? Is it because they will need to balance it out with the rear downforce because of the low downforce rear wing?

New nose as in not the old one.

Why is that so hard to understand?

I am not sure whether English is your first language but something is only new once and isn't new after it has been used multiple times...that high nose isn't new, it's been used...maybe that helps your comprehension

Definition of new: not yet used

What about when discussing the old (low) nose and new (high) nose. Talking about the old main plane with old nose what do you think of, high or low nose?

I was trying to distinguish that they were mixing the parts.

Technically its a new front win as its a new combination.

Old plane and new but old (high) nose.

Let's go for the politically, socially and culturally correct "relative new" :P.

"the" new nose works too.

Check this topic a few pages back. It's some paint or tape.
