first time Magnussen turned a wheel in a F1 car was at the YDT in Abu Dhabi 2012 and he set fastest time on the first day,iotar__ wrote:It's hard to question Kvyat's talent or abilities because the fair assumption is no one has a clue about it. What Marko says means little, all RB YDP drivers are super talents until they are not needed. What can be questioned is timing of his promotion to F1 or motivation behind it based on previous choices (marketing). Now Vergne has a chance to look good and there was a reason Marko was positive about Sirotkin, he was preparing something more surprising.
Speaking of being prepared, Magnussen claims he's 100% ready for F1. I don't know about it, season in GP2 where he could be out-paced by the likes of Cecotto or Colletti would help to judge it better. The problem is some mistakes might happen and reputation of "next big thing" would be at risk. Reputation seems to be more important than development, the less you do the more can be claimed as da Costa's example painfully showed.
he was also fastest on day one of the Silversone YDT, and he has been unbeatable in the last races in WSR
if he is not ready who is?
