Well that escalated quickly. Red Bull in a different league all together.
Seems like it was a bit of a lottery with the tires, Rosberg went from awesome balance to so --- he had to use Hamilton´s settings.

Quite the disaster for Mercedes in general. Hoping for a good race tomorrow.

At the end of Q3, during the broadcast, James Allen asked Coulthard what the term "shake and bake" meant when Rocky radioed Vettel stating "Shake and Bake" after Vettel secured pole position. Vettel radioed back "Shake and Bake". Shake and Bake is actually a slang term that's been used a lot, in a lot of situations, to mean different things. The US military have used it as a slang description of a type of aerial ordinance. I've also seen it used to describe a brash attitude of "getting down to business" or "lock n' load". Maybe they were using the term in a similar manner, with the shake representing the car's setup and the bake being Vettel's racing? Though I've never seen the term used post-activity before.

In North America "Shake n' Bake" is a products that's been around since the 60's and has become somewhat of a household name here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shake_'n_Bake.

The commentators said Vettel was 0.5s down after S2, and then I stopped following the live timings.
No, he was 0.25 down after S2. Webber cocked up the last sector badly. You could see that in his lap time – he was 0.5 up on his previous time after S2, but then only 0.2 up after S3, so he lost at least 0.3 seconds on himself even in the last sector.
In all the qualifying sessions Vettel was faster thanWebber in the last sector. Even in Q1 where webber qualified higher than Seb,his last sector was slower and Webbers Q3 time was his fastest for the entire qualifying.
Generally I don't care about what people say. I have to be clear with myself. When everything goes well, people celebrate you, when you make mistakes people criticize you.

New poll on the front page before we get to the race: Was it right to select Kovalainen instead of Valsecchi?

What do you expect from a guy who has managed to crash his car during a showrun in his own country?

:wtf: :wtf: wait wut? #-o

i know he has speed, obvious he seems to lack 'control'.....how did he win that GP when he shows 'skills' like this?

Just a bit of info from German Sky Television. Sutil had a brake disk failure followed by a puncture in Q1. So do not believe all you read here about his bad qualifying result. I'm pretty sure he would have matched di Resta without this technical failure.

However, Hamilton also believes that tyre dominance is playing as much of a part as the RB9's performance advantage.

"I'm just asking the guys questions; 'What are we missing?' Because these guys are clearly doing something different with the tyres that is enabling them to have a lot more grip. Because we should be within half a second of them, I think, in pure speed of our car. But today they got the tyres working in a certain window, and we didn't, which just means you have no grip."

So it's not everything down on Splitter/Stay imitating a Mass Damper or clever KERS mapping acting like a TC at the end of the day, isn't it?
Therefore anyone has some answers to Hamy's question?

And another observation is the fact that drivers how are more aggressive style of driving has had the best results yesterday in qualy coz they could put more heat into the tyres ... that was the case of Alonso, Hamy,, Grosjean and Webber, but the latter did a mistake in T15, messed the S3 and Vettel steeled his pole ...

Red Bull is simply on point every single time and you can´t do --- except take of your hat and realize you just got dominated before the race even started.

Such is the result in F1 of having the best driver paired with the best designer and unlimited funds.

Amazing for the sport, not so great for the show.

It's kinda weird (or maybe strange is the proper word to describe this matter) that all the remaining 11teams didn't have a clue how to fight with these issues and only RBR is the one how could be able every time to nail the setup both for qualy and the race ... at least for the second part of the season ...
