They have no excuses not to score points this season either, with a new factory in 2012, and sacrificing 2013 to focus on this year.awizul wrote:Much better reliability than yesterday but still trailing their direct competitor, Marussia performance wise. Does it due to much more seasoned pair compared to the rookie Swede & also suspected Renault PU? Shall wait for Kamui tomorrow eventhough they still couldn't extract as much performance from their PU. Otherwise it's the same old story for Caterhams, 4-5 secs shy from the leader.. TF's team not doing well neither Leafield nor W12
They are going for a lotus tusk nose.xkt_05202 wrote:According to Ted Kravitz, Caterham going to have new nose in Spain. Looking forward to that
Please source, i also could say that pigs will fly tomorow . And we all kneew that is not true. So please if you have to say something, argumented with some sort sources, quotes or in other case mute. And even then, make sense to evaluate source if is really worth to mention and if it is even possible to realize.Bredd wrote:They are going for a lotus tusk nose.xkt_05202 wrote:According to Ted Kravitz, Caterham going to have new nose in Spain. Kamui is not very excited with the new car as he believes it would be better if they could use GP2 car... I fear for CaterhamJDC123 wrote:They have no excuses not to score points this season either, with a new factory in 2012, and sacrificing 2013 to focus on this year.awizul wrote:Much better reliability than yesterday but still trailing their direct competitor, Marussia performance wise. Let me to continue to comment about Caterham noses development path. I remember from Ted Kravitz interview in Jerez tests with Caterham technical director (Mark Smith). He SPECIALLY say that they had no look in Lotus option! Of course that could not be credible, because he could easily lied. But because their lack of money i dont belive that the as a HUGE backmarker are you prepare to risk team existence if fails. That i could be to HUGE and to difficult gamble for small teams. Especially then if we know how difficult are CFD test with 2 tusk noses (asymmetrical design caused anomalies) in its need to "fullscale" simulation and additional extensive testing.
As we saw in this preseason Caterham choose very wisely maybe for just couple first races "safe" route ( design wise=> most obvious in cooling). And that it to some extend works. They are the most successful Renault team in achieved milleage and decent reliability.
Plus there is no point to make some radical changes if you as a team don't had basis of the car clear. Is a same thing like teaching process, first are elemental things only then you could add complexity into. Until you dont mastered the basis of quick and competitive F1 car is no point to move forward. So again i think the complexity of 2 tusk of nose is no way to go for Caterham.
