As far as I can tell the hype around the new technology far exceeds the potential PR downside about the sound. Anyway, competitiveness and public interest in driver personalities is a much bigger driver of tickets sales and TV audiences than dB.
What hype? What personalities? You are wrong, the lack of sound will keep people away. I'm afraid the drivers have no personalities anymore, they are nothing more than media savvy corporate robots. Also I failed to see much competitiveness on Sunday. I hope they sort this out, F1 needs noise, it's the signature of the sport.
You missed Bottas carving his way forward twice? Ricciardo keeping his RB10 in second?
It's amazing to me what change does to perception. F1 is the same as it's ever been.
i appreciated the quality of racing etc and the drama within the race. wasnt super exciting but was a few bits going off and is wasnt too processional. However the fact remains that i didnt feel that same level of excitement.
There was something lacking during the race (apart from Hamilton).
The sound of the V8s added an extra dimension to the raceing, The Mrs used to roll over in bed hear the sound of the F1 cars and go back to sleep knowing to leave me to watch the race.
But NO!! She came downstairs sat beside me and said "i wondered where you were, i forgot it was an F1 weekend I usually hear them all weekend long" She then proceeded to sit next to me and talk while the race was on. do you realize what pain this caused me!!

Of previous years she would run at the sound of a V8 engine. but NOOOO Now she can tolerate the sound
please please please do something to make these cars louder so the Mrs cannot stand them again
