I doubt he is joining the team.
If he is not joining McLaren, then where is he off too? Not RedBull. And not Mercedes. Staying at Ferrari might be one option, though I can only imagine the fun if that happens, in regards to Vettel that was supposed to head out there. Maybe Kimi will be shafted for the second time out of a contract?
There's only one certainty that I see; Vettel is leaving RedBull Racing so he is either off to Ferrari or McLaren.
Vettel 100% to Ferrari it is his dream and his race engineer has already made the switch to Ferrari. Alonso is doing his best to confuse McLaren, he trying to make them think that he has more options. But he really hasn't its McLaren or nothing, Alonso want a seat at Mercedes but he is to late. He didn't take the leap that Hamilton did by leaving McLaren. That was his mistake and I bet he is regretting that choice big time. Could Alonso stay and Kimi leave, that is 100% a option. Because Kimi has only a 1 year deal left and Alonso a 2 year deal so paying Kimi off is the cheaper option for Ferrari.
Staying it is an option that many are not considering but if we look at recent interviews and news, it might be the case if it is not anounced Mclaren this weekend.
Alonso - I will not drive a mercedes engine next year, it will be the best for ferrari, my future is gonna be better than this year (Mclaren at the moment are behind Ferrari)
Raikonen - I am in a situation that I hate , it is fustrating the problems I have
Matiacci manage to unfreeze the engine rules
Staying 1 year at Ferrari, nearly finishing his contract, see if there is a progress with the ferrari PU and gamble to get the seat at Mercedes and also show he is better driver than Vettel, Why not?
